Infosec Ventures is a cybersecurity venture studio with a portfolio of B2B cybersecurity SaaS products. We are building our marketing function. This person owns what the world reads about us - every press mention, every published article, every piece of content that shapes how a CISO or IT buyer perceives HumanFirewall.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Someone who has done PR or content in an environment where nothing was handed to them. What matters is that they have operated without a safety net - built their own media lists, written their own pitches, chased their own coverage.
- They have 2–4 years of this kind of experience. They know what it feels like to send ten pitches and get one response - and they know exactly how to reverse engineer that one win into the next ten.
- This is an Individual Contributor role. We are looking for someone who wants to do the work - and do it exceptionally well.
- Some awareness of cybersecurity is expected. They should know what phishing is, understand why data breaches make headlines, and not be intimidated by technical subject matter. Deep domain knowledge is not required. Genuine curiosity and the ability to learn fast is.
- Someone who embraces the AI learning curve - not intimidated by how fast the landscape is shifting, actively upskilling as the paradigm evolves.
WHAT THEY WILL DO
- Own PR for the Infosec Ventures portfolio - identify angles, build media relationships, pitch stories, follow up, get coverage
- Write press releases, contributed articles, and op-eds that support the PR pipeline
- Build the on-page and off-page content foundation for HumanFirewall - blogs, resource pages, guides, and thought leadership that drives organic inbound
- Produce supporting content - threat reports and newsletters - that gives journalists and publications something worth citing
- Build and maintain a media contact list specific to cybersecurity, tech, and enterprise B2B
- Own email marketing as the content engine matures - build and manage nurture sequences, newsletters, and campaign sends to a growing list of cybersecurity and enterprise B2B contacts
- Work closely with leadership daily to turn domain expertise into external narratives
NON-NEGOTIABLES
- 2–4 years in PR, communications, or content in a resource-light environment - as long as they built from scratch
- Something to show for it - coverage, placements, published content they were directly responsible for-
- Strong written communication - pitches, press releases, articles
- Basic cybersecurity awareness - not expertise, genuine familiarity
- Experience in B2B or tech PR - consumer, lifestyle, or social-only backgrounds will not be considered
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn AI tools, platforms, and search behavior as they evolve
