QA Lead

About the Role:

We're seeking a passionate and experienced QA Automation Lead to join our dynamic team. You'll be responsible for leading the charge in developing and executing comprehensive test automation strategies for our product functionalities. From collaborating with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria to building and optimizing test frameworks, you'll wear many hats and play a pivotal role in ensuring software quality.

What You'll Do:

• Lead a team of 5+ QA professionals in designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts for web and mobile applications.
• Translate requirements and test designs into clear and concise test suites covering UI, API, and performance aspects.
• Design and implement robust test automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Appium, TestNG, or similar frameworks.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define acceptance criteria, prioritize test cases, and ensure timely delivery of quality products.
• Proactively review application performance, recommend performance testing strategies, and execute performance tests as needed.
• Participate in the SDLC process, contributing to test planning, estimation, and reporting activities.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest testing trends and best practices, proactively suggesting improvements and implementing them.

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of experience in QA automation, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of building and executing automated test frameworks for web and mobile applications.
• Expert in Selenium WebDriver, Appium, TestNG, or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of modern web technology testing techniques (e.g., REST APIs, web services).
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests using Python.
• Ability to write SQL queries and retrieve data from databases.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Passionate about quality assurance and its role in delivering exceptional products.
• Creative, independent, self-motivated, and adaptable to learning new technologies.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in building test frameworks for cloud-based products (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Position Statement:

The incumbent will be an experienced leader with a proven capability in leading multiple teams and contributing to overall organizational goal attainment. • Managing Accounts – Coordinating with Test Manager and test Lead. Managing client escalation, People issues, requirement etc. Understanding existing clients, upcoming IT projects & IT budget etc
• Working closely with the existing team – QK Account sales team for new logos and new solutions offerings.
• Contributing to Marketing & white papers.
• Working with Finance on billing and invoicing issues.
• Resource planning, coordinating with RMG, TA etc.
• Monitoring Revenue Leakage and GM improvement.
• Project Governance & Risk - Effort, Time and Cost.
• Project scope/timeline deviation / Tracking CR with Client stakeholders.
• Skip-level meetings with TL, STE & TE.
• New project Estimation and working on proposals. Contributes to strategic and policy development and implementation of the same in the organization.
• Allocates accountability amongst the team, manages career development of others, liaises with other managers, advises the business on technology related issues & engages in short/medium / long-term plan. Applies advanced knowledge and experience to the development of new methods, programs and procedures. Offers expertise cutting across units and makes tactical decisions impacting business development and client relationship management.
• Advises Senior Management on specialized testing issues, conducts, supports, and reports research in one's own areas of expertise.

Required Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in the IT Industry preferably working in the service-based IT industry.

• Proven experience in leading Agile, DevOps, technology, and digitization automation-driven projects.
• Possesses strong BFSI domain knowledge (Preferred Indian clients)

Professional Qualification:

• B.Sc./ B. Tech / B.E. / MCA / MBA
• Possess 1-2 globally accepted certifications.
• Should have scored a minimum of 60% of marks throughout all academic levels

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Ensure that the automation framework that we build is on par or better than industry standards.
• Design, document, execute, and maintain test plans, scenarios, use cases, scripts, and procedures.
• Ensure full lifecycle testing including integration, regression, and stress tests.
• Provide input on functional requirements to avoid potential design pitfalls
• Collaborate with software developers on testing strategy and defect resolution.
• Work with the Services team as a SME on areas where appropriate.
• Take initiative for software quality process efficiency and improvements.Build functional test frameworks (UI and API) that encompasses various customer use cases for SaaS based cloud environments.
• Testing all aspects of the Product like function/system/regression etc.
• Understand flow of code and how it interacts with different components
• Setting up, maintaining, and performing test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms, such as Mobile, and Web, and building test scenarios and acceptance tests by collaborating with functional test team and development team
• Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and Management.
• Analyze complex situations/problems and deliver logical and efficient automated solutions.
• Passionate about performance, scalability and reliability of all systems and can elaborate on the pros and cons of methodologies, tools and frameworks.

II Experience:

• Nature of Experience: Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
• Length of Experience: 8 - 12 years.

III Skill Set & Personality Traits required:

• Has around 10 to 12 years of experience in test automation with sound knowledge of product development and testing.
• Well versed in all Automation tools.
• Has a sound background of Python/Java development and extensive experience in Selenium, Jmeter, Protractor, UFT, etc. standard automation tools in the industry.
• Comfortable working in an automated, fast-paced environment.
• A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong professionally – credible with integrity.
• Good communication & interpersonal skills.

Requirements -

• Bachelor’s Degree with 0-3 years of industry experience as an automation tester in Selenium/Python and Appium/Python
• Hands on Experience in designing highly reusable and efficient Automation Test framework design in Selenium/Python and Appium/Python and able to maintain/support an automation framework
• Experience in building and adhering the automation processes/standards and guidelines to meet code quality benchmark and robustness of overall framework for future maintenance
• Experience in developing high-quality test automation suite in a cross-browser environment
• Experienced in working with different Data Types, Variables, Operators, Flow Control Statements, and Methods
• Ability to handle exceptions, File I/O, API interactions and Database Operations
• Good understanding of QA methodologies, software testing life cycle and processes.
• Good knowledge of different types of Element Locators, Inspecting Elements and Selenium WebDriver API Commands or Methods
• Rich experience in failure debugging and writing clean & efficient code with strong SQL skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in building end to end automation scripts with code modularity and reusability

Preferred -

• Experience in Automation development in an agile environment
• Working knowledge of test management tools Visual Studio/JIRA
• Responsible for maintaining latest code artifacts in version control systems like GIT.

• Expertise in database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored process, jobs, triggers and replication.
• Experience with functional testing of web and Android/iOS App.

• Work very closely with development teams to ensure technical specifications and final product meet business requirements. 
• Responsible for setting up and implementing test automation strategy from a Functional and Non-functional perspective for one module or multiple modules who you work with.
• Understand User Experience, design thinking, and its importance to product features.
• Responsible for the addition of new capabilities and features in the automation framework which is used by the entire QA team for test automation.

• +3 years of exposure to manual testing on different methodologies.
• Experience in generating test cases.
• QA knowledge in test automation for products or systems.
• Exposure to agile methodology, cross-browser testing, functional testing, Regression testing, and Performance testing.
• Prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure and risks on the project or closure of escalations.
• Experience in generating Test Case documentation.
• Strong Knowledge of Test Automation, Software Testing, Selenium, TestNg, API Testing, Jmeter, Appium, and Cucumber 8. 8. Framework
• Good to have knowledge of Jenkins (CI)
• Extent Report generation in selenium
• Programming language - Java (preferred), Javascript, Database

Responsibilities:

• Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
• Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies

Required qualifications:

• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Applications Testing with exposure to API and automation testing
• Working knowledge of popular test management software and SQL
• Knowledge of at least one programming/ scripting language
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
