About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Web & Digital Operations Specialist who can independently manage websites, support digital initiatives, use AI effectively, and take ownership of projects from requirement through completion.
This is not a traditional frontend developer role and it is also not a pure digital marketing role.
The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working across WordPress, Shopify, website optimization, SEO, digital operations, AI tools, QA, and project coordination.
You do not need to be an expert in everything. What matters is your ability to understand a problem, research what you don't know, use the right tools, execute independently, and verify that the final result actually works.
What You'll Do
Website Management & Optimization
- Build, update, and maintain websites using WordPress and/or Shopify.
- Create and improve landing pages, product pages, forms, and other website sections.
- Troubleshoot website issues and coordinate technical fixes when required.
- Ensure websites work properly across desktop and mobile.
- Improve website usability, page speed, navigation, and overall user experience.
- Perform website QA, including checking links, forms, images, copy, CTAs, layouts, and functionality.

SEO & Digital Performance
- Handle fundamental on-page and technical SEO activities.

We are not necessarily looking for a PPC/performance-marketing specialist. You should, however, understand how websites support broader digital marketing and conversion goals.
AI & Automation
AI will be a regular part of this role.
You will use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Cursor/Copilot or similar AI tools to:
- Research unfamiliar topics and industries.
- Assist with website development and troubleshooting.
- Analyze information and identify possible solutions.
- Create and improve content.
- Support SEO and competitor research.
- Speed up repetitive tasks.
- Improve internal processes and documentation.
- Explore opportunities for automation.
You don't need to already be an advanced AI automation engineer.
However, you should be comfortable with AI and interested in learning how tools such as Zapier, Make, n8n, APIs, scripts, or similar platforms can reduce repetitive manual work.
Most importantly, you should review and verify AI-generated output rather than blindly accepting it.
Project Ownership & Coordination
- Take ownership of assigned projects from requirement to completion.
- Break objectives into clear tasks and priorities.
- Coordinate with designers, developers, content teams, marketing teams, or external partners when needed.
- Track deadlines and follow up on dependencies.
- Communicate blockers early rather than waiting until deadlines are missed.
- Maintain checklists, documentation, and project updates.

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a short 15–20 minute practical problem-solving assessment.
This will not primarily be a coding test.
You may be given a realistic digital problem and asked to explain:

- How you would verify your solution.

We are more interested in how you think and approach unfamiliar problems than whether you already know every tool we use.
One important change I'd make to your hiring
I would actually use “Web & Digital Operations Specialist” as the public-facing title rather than “AI & Digital Operations Specialist.”
AI is still prominent in the JD, but putting AI first in the title can attract AI developers/engineers and candidates who primarily use AI tools, while your foundation is really websites + digital operations + SEO + ownership, with AI being how you want them to work.
This revised JD should also make candidates like Tarun, Shubham and Deepanshu easier to compare: you don't reject Tarun just because he isn't a PPC specialist, and you don't automatically favor Deepanshu because he's a strong marketer. The question becomes whether each candidate has the web/digital foundation + AI aptitude + ownership needed for this particular role.
