Full Stack Engineer at Zoop.one · Pune · 3 - 6 years · ₹12L - ₹18L / yr · Bootstrapped · Posted 4 Nov 2026

We're hiring an SDE-2 Full Stack Engineer to build the web experiences adjusters and policyholders use to report, track, and settle insurance claims. You'll spend most of your time on the frontend in React and TypeScript — owning features end to end from design handoff to production — while understanding and contributing to the backend services that power them.
Our claims services are written largely in Go, so Go experience is a strong plus, though solid backend fundamentals in any language are what matter most. We're also building a desktop application in Electron, so Electron experience is a real plus. You'll design APIs alongside backend engineers, reason about data models, and understand how your UI behaves under real production load.
This is a mid-level role for someone who ships independently, raises the bar on frontend quality, and wants to learn the claims domain deeply. The people using what you build are often filing a claim on a bad day or working through a high-volume queue — thoughtful, reliable UX matters here.
What You'll Own
- Frontend features across the claims lifecycle: claim intimation, claim status tracking, document and photo upload, adjuster workbench tools, and settlement flows
- Translating designs into accessible, responsive, performant UI, and partnering with design and product on usability
- API design with backend engineers, and contributions to Go services when a feature needs an endpoint, a data model change, or a fix
- Integrations with third-party vendor APIs — surveyors, garages/repairers, hospitals or TPAs, payment gateways, document verification — including error handling, retries, and graceful degradation when a vendor is slow or down
- Frontend observability: error tracking, performance monitoring, user-journey analytics, and alerting so we know when a claims flow breaks before customers tell us
- Test coverage and observability for everything you ship — unit, integration, and end-to-end
Who You Are
- You take a feature from ambiguous requirement to production without waiting to be told each step
- You explain technical tradeoffs clearly to engineers, product, and design, in writing and in conversation
- You debug across the stack — browser, API, database — and fix root causes, not symptoms
- You review others' code generously, ask for review on your own, and help junior engineers level up
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused on frontend development
- Strong command of React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, including state management, component architecture, and performance tuning
- Solid HTML/CSS fundamentals, hands-on Tailwind CSS experience, accessibility (WCAG) awareness, and experience building responsive, cross-browser UI
- Working knowledge of backend systems: REST or gRPC API design, relational databases and SQL, authentication/authorization, and how services are deployed and monitored
- Hands-on backend experience in at least one server-side language (Go preferred; Java, C#, Python, Node.js, or similar also fine)
- Experience writing automated tests at multiple levels
- Experience integrating third-party APIs into a product, and instrumenting frontend code with error tracking and performance monitoring
Nice to Have
- Experience building or shipping Electron desktop applications: packaging, auto-updates, main/renderer process communication, and native OS integration
- Production experience with Go: writing services, concurrency patterns, testing, and the standard toolchain
- Experience in another regulated domain (fintech, healthcare, banking) where auditability, data privacy, and compliance shape product decisions
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, message queues, or workflow engines
- Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containers, and CI/CD
- Exposure to applied AI/ML features in product — document classification, intake triage, or LLM-backed assistants

About Vijay Sales
Vijay Sales is a consumer electronics and appliances retailer, selling through its stores across India, its website and its app.
Our technology team builds the software the business runs on: order management, customer support automation over WhatsApp, reviews and ratings, and the dashboards our operations teams use every day.
The role
We are hiring full stack engineers who can take a feature from spec to production across React, Node.js and MongoDB.
You will work on customer-facing and internal products, often both in the same week. One sprint may be a review submission page used by customers on their phones. The next may be an API that pulls order status from our order management system for the support bot.
We are looking for engineers with 3 to 6 years of experience who are comfortable owning both the front end and the back end of what they ship.
What you'll do
- Build responsive, mobile-first interfaces in React using our in-house UI component libraries.
- Design and build REST APIs and background services in Node.js.
- Model data in MongoDB and keep queries fast as collections grow.
- Integrate with the systems the business runs on: order management, ERP, point of sale and ticketing.
- Build messaging flows over WhatsApp, email and SMS, including delivery tracking, retries and fallbacks.
- Work with the conversational AI team to expose order, invoice and support actions to the customer support bot.
- Write tests, review code and own your features in production, including monitoring and fixing what breaks.
- Work directly with product and operations teams to turn a business problem into a working release.
Our stack
React, Node.js and MongoDB are the core. Everything else in the table is what you will connect to or build alongside.
- Front end: React, with Vijay Sales' in-house UI component libraries
- Back end: Node.js services and REST APIs
- Database: MongoDB
- Messaging: WhatsApp Business, Amazon SES for email, RCS and SMS as fallback
- Conversational AI: LangChain and Rasa, behind the customer support bot
- Business systems: Order management (OMS), ERP, POS, Ticketing Systems
What we're looking for
- 3 to 6 years of professional experience building and shipping web applications.
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals: async patterns, the event loop, modules, error handling.
- Solid React skills: hooks, state management, component design, performance on low-end mobile devices.
- Hands-on Node.js experience: building REST APIs, authentication with JWT, role-based access, input validation.
- Working knowledge of MongoDB: schema design, indexing, aggregation pipelines.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and webhooks, and handling their failures gracefully.
- Comfort with Git, code review, automated tests and CI/CD.
- Clear written and spoken communication. You will talk to operations and business teams, not only engineers.
Nice to have
- Experience with the WhatsApp Business API, Gupshup or similar messaging platforms.
- Exposure to LLM application development: LangChain, retrieval, tool calling, or bot frameworks such as Rasa.
- Background in retail, e-commerce or order management systems.
- Experience integrating with ERP or POS systems.
- Familiarity with AWS, Redis and message queues.
- React Native or other mobile app experience.
Why join and how to apply
- Your work reaches real customers and store teams quickly. There is very little distance between a release and the people who use it.
- You own features end to end, from the first conversation with the business team to production.
- You get hands-on exposure to conversational AI and LLM-based products alongside core full stack work.
Full-Stack Engineer (AI-Native) | 2-4 Years Experience
About the Role
We're hiring a Full-Stack Engineer who is equally comfortable building a polished Next.js interface and a reliable NestJS API behind it. You'll build customer-facing products, including AI-powered features like chat interfaces, streaming responses, and agent-driven workflows. You'll own features end to end, from database schema to UI, and use AI tools daily to ship faster without lowering the quality bar.
What You'll Do
Frontend
- Build responsive, accessible, high-performance UIs with React, Next.js (App Router, RSC) and TypeScript
- Build AI-facing interfaces: streaming chat UIs, tool-call/agent-status displays, and loading, error, and retry states for non-deterministic outputs
- Monitor web vitals and fix performance regressions
Backend
- Design and build scalable REST/GraphQL APIs and services with Node.js and NestJS
- Model, query, and optimize data in PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, migrations) using an ORM like Prisma or Drizzle
- Implement auth, authorization, validation, background jobs, queues, and caching (Redis)
- Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini), including streaming (SSE/WebSockets), tool calling, retries, rate limits, and cost/latency control
AI-Assisted Engineering
- Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) for scaffolding, refactoring, debugging, and test writing
- Write and maintain project context for AI tools (rules files, AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md, reusable prompts) so the whole team gets better output
- Review AI-generated code critically for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability
Team and Delivery
- Write unit, integration, and E2E tests, using AI to speed them up rather than skip them
- Take part in code reviews, sprint planning, architecture discussions, and on-call/incident follow-ups
- Document APIs, decisions, and runbooks clearly
Must-Have (Non-Negotiable)
Frontend
- Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
- React (hooks, state management, rendering behavior) and Next.js (App Router, SSR/SSG/RSC)
- HTML/CSS fundamentals, Tailwind or similar, responsive design, and accessibility basics
Backend
- Production experience with Node.js and a structured framework (NestJS preferred; Express/Fastify with good architecture is fine)
- Solid PostgreSQL skills: relational modeling, joins, indexes, transactions, query optimization
- API design: REST principles, pagination, versioning, error handling, input validation
- Authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth2, sessions, RBAC)
Engineering Fundamentals
- Git, PR workflows, and code review habits
- Testing across layers (Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, API/integration tests; Playwright/Cypress is a plus)
- Basic security awareness (OWASP top 10, secrets management, input sanitization)
AI-Assisted Development
- Daily, hands-on use of at least one AI coding tool (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Windsurf, or similar)
- Ability to write clear prompts, give useful context, and break big tasks into steps an AI can handle
- Habit of reviewing, testing, and understanding AI output before committing it
- Basic understanding of how LLMs work: context windows, hallucinations, token cost, and why outputs vary
Nice to Have
- Redis, message queues (BullMQ, SQS, Kafka), or event-driven architecture
- Monorepo tooling (Turborepo, pnpm workspaces, Nx)
- Design system or component library work (shadcn/ui, Radix, Storybook)
- tRPC, GraphQL, or OpenAPI-driven type-safe clients
- Multi-tenant SaaS, payments (Stripe/Razorpay), or real-time features
- Open-source contributions, a side project, or shipped AI features you can demo
What We Expect From You
- Ownership: take a feature from schema to UI to production, and flag risks early
- Judgment over speed: AI makes you faster, and you're still accountable for every line you ship
- Security awareness: no secrets in prompts, no blind copy-paste of AI code, and sensitive data stays out of third-party tools
- Systems thinking: consider scale, failure modes, and cost, not just the happy path
- Learning speed: the AI tooling landscape changes every few months, and you keep up and share what works
- Clear communication: PRs, docs, and async updates that others can follow

- Good design judgment: you can decompose problems and choose pragmatic solutions
- Proactive, clear communication; you surface blockers early and keep stakeholders informed
- Comfort with the fast pace, breadth, and high ownership of an early-stage environment Build hardware faster. better. together. ·
Why choose us?
- The teams building advanced hardware and the robots, machines, and devices shaping the future run
- Direct access to founders; you'll help shape product and engineering direction, not just execute tickets

- Competitive compensation and meaningful equity
- Bi-yearly appraisal cycles
- Upto 20% Bonus based on performance
- Monthly Swiggy vouchers
- Flexibility with work hours
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build features across the stack — Implement product features that span the React frontend, the GraphQL federation, the Node.js microservices, and the underlying Postgres and ClickHouse stores.
- GraphQL federation work — Add types, resolvers, and subgraph capabilities to the federated Platform API. Keep subgraph boundaries clean. Respect RBAC enforcement at the federation layer.
- Developer experience surfaces — Lift NPS through intuitive UI/UX, fast onboarding, in-browser testing, clear error states, code-snippet generation, and fast time-to-first-successful-call.
- Billing and commerce features — Ship subscription, plan, invoice, payout, and overage features that touch Stripe / PayPal webhooks, the billing state machine, and the usage ledger.
- API catalog and discovery — Improve marketplace search and the API listing experience, including the ranking signals that flow in from the analytics and search stack.
- Observability and quality — Instrument every feature you ship — logs, traces, and metrics are part of the definition of done, not a follow-up ticket. Write the alerts that page you, not someone else.
- Testing discipline — Own unit and integration tests for everything you ship; contribute to the end-to-end and contract test suites that protect the federation and the billing path. A feature without tests is not done.
- On-call and incident response — Take part in on-call rotations; investigate proxy errors, GraphQL federation timeouts, and billing webhook anomalies. You build it, you run it.
- LLM-assisted engineering — Use LLM-based coding and agentic tooling to evolve how features are shipped, reviewed, and tested.
What Success Looks Like
- Features you ship measurably improve activation, time-to-first-successful-call, and developer NPS quarter over quarter.
- The GraphQL federation surface you touch stays fast, well-typed, and intuitive for the next engineer.
- Billing, subscription, and overage flows you build are accurate, auditable, and replayable — providers and consumers trust the numbers.
- ou ship at a confident cadence — PRs land daily, deploys are routine and boring, regressions are rare.
- You leave the code, the docs, and the tests in better shape than you found them.
What You Bring
- 4–7 years of full-stack product engineering experience, with non-trivial work on production systems used by real customers.
- Strong TypeScript/Node.js; comfort writing both frontend (React) and backend services.
- Hands-on GraphQL experience — ideally federation (Apollo Federation / Mercurius / similar), schema design, subgraph composition, persisted queries, performance tuning.
- Solid SQL and comfort with MySQL or Postgres in production; bonus for ClickHouse or Redis experience.
- Familiarity with AWS (EKS, Lambda, Aurora) and containerised deployment on Kubernetes.
- Comfortable with modern observability, feature flags, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Care for developer experience — APIs you would want to consume, docs you would want to read, errors you would want to debug.
- Bonus: experience with billing/commerce systems (Stripe / PayPal), API gateways, rate-limiting, agent protocols (MCP, A2A, x402), or LLM-based developer tooling.
- You are pragmatic, ship-oriented, and comfortable in a system big enough that no one person knows all of it.
