As a product designer at Quizizz, you will be designing experiences that touch the lives of over 50 million teachers and students around the world. Rather than filling this job description with a bunch of marketing-speak, let's just tell you why Quizizz is special: We're one of the largest education platforms in the world (currently ranked no. 10). So whatever you create will be used by millions of users, within a matter of hours usually! We have a small team of around 20 people, which is tiny considering our userbase. All the other platforms at our scale have hundreds or even thousands of employees. So when we say that you'll have some real ownership, it's not hyperbole. We are a true platform. With 0 content creators, we've built a platform that has over a 100 million unique questions and content pieces covering almost every imaginable topic. Intuitive and delightful design is what makes this possible. While we do expect you to work hard at Quizizz, we also respect your personal time. Put in your 8 hours of work, and enjoy the rest of your day. Simple. At our core, we are building a product that motivates students to learn, and empowers teachers with a great tools. It's a nice feeling, just saying. We'd encourage you to visit our website and see what our users have to say about us. What is it like to work at Quzizz? We're low on meetings, and high on uninterrupted work time. You'll have 2 team meetings every week, and maybe 2-4 additional adhoc meetings in an average week. You will be given high-level objectives like "How can we get more users to explore our new video embedding feature?" You will work with a team of talented data analysts to deep dive into existing user behaviour. Taking the example above, you'll try to get answers to questions like, "How many people have every seen our video feature?", "How many users attempt to add a video but abandon midway?", "What are the power-users of the video feature doing with it?" and many more. You will setup in-product systems to gather qualitiative and quantitative feedback. When required, you'll talk to our users directly. Set up interviews and hear feedback straight from the horses mouth. You'll work with rockstar engineers to design effective solutions within our technical and resource constraints. Our design and engineering teams are two peas in a pod. :) You will strive to ship projects fast (even with flaws), and learn and adapt based on user feedback, rather than trying to be omniscient. Sometimes things will break, and we're OK with that. Also known as the "iterative design process" if we're being fancy. You will have a voice. We know that our culture and processes are far from perfect. Your ideas will be heard (all of them) and implemented (just the good ones :D) What do you need to bring to the table? Experience working on product design projects that were shipped to real users. An ability to communicate and defend your design decisions, but also the humility to acknowledge feedback and make changes when required. Everyone on our team cares deeply about the product experience, and they often have valuable insights to share. A high level of comfort in working with front-end developers and understanding the constraints of HTML and CSS. Pro-level skills with tools like Figma, Principle, Sketch, etc. to create wireframes, high fidelity designs and functional prototypes. A solid understanding of the requirements of different device categories, like mobile, tablet, desktop etc. You'll have to build for them all. What is our interview process like? Send us your resume and portfolio, and tell us a bit about why you want to work with us. If we think you would be a good fit here, we'll schedule an interview call. Interview 1 - Getting to know each other (1 hour) You'll chat with someone on the team and share more about your work experience and expectations. We'll also be happy to answer any questions you might have about Quizizz or the role. Interview 2 - Design discussion (3 hours) You'll be given a problem statement and a few tasks to deliver on the call. We mainly want to understand your process, and give you an idea of how our Design Team works. Interview 3 - Final questions (1 hour) We'll have a final call to cover any remaining questions or concerns that the hiring manager might have. Decision If all goes well, you'll receive an offer from us. If it's not meant to be, we'll tell you why. Well, we could go on, but we think you get the idea by now. Think this is the perfect job for you? Just send us your resume and portfolio and we'll take it from there. We're excited to hear from you!
