While India is a very large market for a home and local services (~USD 50 Billion in retail spends) and expected to double in the next 5 years, there is no billion-dollar company in this segment today. - The industry is bare ~20 years old, with a sub-optimal market architecture typical of an unorganized market - fragmented supply side operated by middlemen. As a result, experiences are broken for both customers and service professionals, each largely relying upon word of mouth to discover the other. The industry can easily be 1.5-2x larger than it is today if the frictions in user and professional's journeys are removed - and the experiences made more meaningful and joyful.Job Description :Over the last 5 years in the Urbanclap journey, we have grown from a single monolith to 65 microservices. We deliver throughout of around 100Mn/day. Our database has grown from a mere single Monolith cluster to 18 clusters in total with around 8TB of data. So overall engineering tech stack has grown tremendously in recent years. For the last 2 years, the platform team has been working on solving core engineering problems with focused effort. Platform Vertical: The Urbanclap tech has multiple verticals which are aligned to solving specific problem statement. The platform is one of them. Under Platform, we solve for the following:- Data Platform: It deals with data availability with ease for each and every end-user by strengthening data ingestion, processing, availability and consumption through engineering built platform- Dev and Core Platform: It solves for all core engineering problems spanning across tech stack, faced by each and every engineering sub-verticals.- Infra Platform: It solves dev productivity, scalability, infrastructure as code, reliability, and availability. Required Skills: Prior experience in performing the same role in a SaaS security product company. Minimum 10 years of industry experience. Building and managing tools that power AWS cloud services. Experience with managing large scale multi-tenanted SaaS applications. High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and implementation. Expert knowledge of Terraform. AWS SysOps Administrator or DevOps Engineer Certification. Outstanding collaboration and communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with distributed teams. Nice to Have: Experience going through compliance audits like SOC2, ISO 2700x.
Cloud Platform Developer: 8 to 12 years of platform development experience with good knowledge on any virtualized platform (VMware ESXi, Linux KVM, Openstack, AWS, etc) Candidate must understand how to instantiate/provision/package VMs on cloud platforms – OVF/OVA, qcow2, etc. Strong in Shell and Python scripting; Knowledge of Apache Maven is plus. Knowledge of Ansible or Terraform will be useful Knowledge of Rift.io / Open source MANO / Restful APIs will be plus Good knowledge of Linux OS fundamentals – IPCs (sockets, shared memory, etc), multi-threading, Semaphores, IP routing, etc. Experience of working in an agile software development environment is critical Exposure to multiple aspect of product lifecycle process including requirement gathering, functional specification, design, development, testing, and maintenance.
