Principal DevOps Engineer

Note - Screening Requirement: Please note that this position requires a minimum of 8+ years of hands-on Architecting DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineering experience specializing in AWS, EKS/Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, Jenkins, and AI workflows (Mandatory skills) from scratch.

We are looking for an absolute builder who has a proven track record of personally architecting, designing and setting up production-grade AWS EKS clusters entirely from scratch. If your experience is primarily limited to managing, maintaining, or optimizing pre-existing environments that were already stood up by another team, this is not the right opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

● Architect and manage the end-to-end SaaS platform infrastructure on AWS, including EKS cluster design, VPC networking, IAM, and multi-region availability.

● Build, maintain, and optimize Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines and develop Python automation scripts for provisioning, deployments, and runbook automation.

● Define and enforce platform SLOs/SLAs; own the observability strategy across logging, metrics, and tracing.

● Manage and participate in the on-call rotation; act as escalation point for P1/P2 incidents and drive post-incident reviews.

● Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices with Terraform/CloudFormation and champions a culture of automation and operational excellence.

● Collaborate cross-functionally with product, security, and engineering teams to align infrastructure roadmap with business goals.

● Identify opportunities to leverage AI to automate operational and DevOps workflows.

● Design and implement AI-assisted solutions for incident triaging, root cause analysis, log analysis, and performance optimization.

● Drive the adoption of AI-powered tools for infrastructure management, deployment automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

● Build intelligent workflows that reduce manual effort in release management, capacity planning, and operational support.

● Integrate AI capabilities into CI/CD pipelines to improve code quality, deployment reliability, and operational efficiency.

● Collaborate with engineering teams to automate repetitive tasks and improve developer productivity.

● Define best practices and governance for the safe and effective use of AI across DevOps processes.

● Measure and report on productivity gains, operational improvements, and cost savings achieved through AI adoption.

Requirements:

● 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering roles.

● Deep hands-on expertise with AWS services (EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudFront, Route53, Lambda, etc).

● Strong Kubernetes experience: cluster management, Helm, autoscaling (HPA/KEDA).

● Proficiency with Jenkins for complex CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance.

● Solid Python scripting skills for automation, tooling, and infrastructure management tasks.

● Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and/or AWS Cloud Formation.

● Proven track record of architecting and managing end-to-end SaaS products in a cloud-native environment.

● Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, security best practices, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001 a plus).

● Hands-on experience with on-call processes and incident management frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

● AWS certifications: Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or equivalent.

● Familiarity with service mesh, secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager), and zero-trust security models.

● Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures and tenant isolation strategies.

● Knowledge of FinOps principles and AWS cost management tooling.

● Experience with database DevOps: RDS, Aurora schema migrations, and backup strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Engineer solutions using AWS services (Cloud Formation, EC2, Lambda, Route 53, ECS, EFS )
• Balance hardware, network, and software layers to arrive at a scalable and maintainable solution that meets requirements for uptime, performance, and functionality
• Monitor server applications and use tools and log files to troubleshoot and resolve problems
• Maintain 99.99% availability of the web and integration services
• Anticipate, identify, mitigate, and resolve issues relating to client facing infrastructure
• Monitor, analyse, and predict trends for system performance, capacity, efficiency, and reliability and recommend enhancements in order to better meet client SLAs and standards
• Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration and DevOps tasks
• Deploy and decommission client environments for multi and single tenant hosted applications following and updating as needed established processes and procedures
• Follow and develop CPA change control processes for modifications to systems and associated components

Practice configuration management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation per company policies and procedures.

Qualifications :

• Should have strong experience in working Configuration Management area, with tools preferably, TFSVC, TFS vNext OR GIT, SVN, Jenkins
• Strong working experience in tools related to Application Lifecycle Management, like Microsoft TFS
• Should have hands-on working experience in CICD (Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment) practices
• Strong be expertise in handling software builds & release mgmt. activities in Dotnet based environment / Java environment

Specific responsibilities commensurate with experience and include:

• Ability to react quickly and effectively to identify and resolve issues that heavily impact CI/CD system (immediate mitigation of impact, long-term resolution including strategies for risk mitigation/monitoring/alert for proactive resolution of potential future occurrences)
• Design, develop, unit test, and implement build automation scripts including environment configuration validation processes
• Automate and improve development process by evaluation and introduction of new tools and scripts, and manage their life cycle and validation
• Determine branching strategy and maintain branches for various components, products, and product lines
• Come up with solutions to open-ended problems that focus on workflow improvements for the Software department
• Address issues with well-defined requirements efficiently; come up with short-term and long-term solutions and staged deployment strategies
• Self-driven-- takes action to move tickets from start to completion with minimal oversight
• Ability to communicate with and consider perspectives of stakeholders including but not limited to: IT, software development, verification

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• 6+ years (minimum) experience handling Build, Release, and Deployment of software on Windows and/or Linux environments (on-premise)
• Experience with the development and deployment of CM processes and tools
• Build automation for .NET using TeamCity (Jenkins is an asset)
• Scripting languages: Windows batch scripting, Powershell, Ant/NAnt
• Source control systems usage, branching strategies, and workflow (Git preferred, Subversion)
• 6+ years of hands-on programming experience with C# and .NET (both Framework and Core)
• Troubleshooting and debugging-- what information to gather when there are issues with CI/CD system, and how to gather it (i.e., analyzing network communication? Windows crash dumps, java logs, etc.)
• 6+ years (minimum) in web/desktop application software development experience
• Excellent problem solving, critical and analytical thinking
• Strong team player who understands SDLC and QA methodologies
• A professional, results-oriented individual with a high degree of self-motivation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate work/activities with multiple software/IT teams
• Working with virtual machines and build management on virtual machines (VMware preferred).
• Managing configurations for multiple build environments
• OS administration and scripting experience (Windows is a must, Linux desired)
• Experience with test automation tools (NUnit, customer inhouse frameworks) and strategies is an asset
• Creation and maintenance of monitoring and alert systems (Zabbix)
• Familiarity with databases (SQL-based) - create, modify, optimize (via script)
• Data and metrics gathering, aggregation, and reporting
• Experience with work management and documentation tools: JIRA and Confluence

• 5+ years hands-on experience with designing, deploying and managing core AWS services and infrastructure
• Proficiency in scripting using Bash, Python, Ruby, Groovy, or similar languages 
• Experience in source control management, specifically with Git
• Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux and bash scripting
• Experience building, managing Helm-based build and release CI-CD pipelines for Kubernetes platforms (EKS, Openshift, GKE) 
• Strong experience with orchestration and config management tools such as Terraform, Ansible or Cloudformation  
• Ability to debug, analyze issues leveraging tools like App Dynamics, New Relic and Sumologic 
• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies and principles

We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer that will help our team establish DevOps practice. You will work closely with the technical lead ( and/or CTO ) to identify and establish DevOps practices in the company.

You will help us build scalable, efficient cloud infrastructure. You’ll implement monitoring for automated system health checks. Lastly, you’ll build our CI pipeline, and train and guide the team in DevOps practices.

Responsibilities
