Devops Engineer

Job Summary :

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a key role in building, managing, and scaling infrastructure for high-performance systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Python scripting, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices around CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, or similar.

- Manage Kubernetes clusters, configure namespaces, services, deployments, and auto scaling.

CI/CD & Release Management :

- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of services.

- Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth and frequent deployments to production.

- Manage versioning and rollback strategies for critical deployments.

Containerization & Orchestration using Kubernetes :

- Containerize applications using Docker, and manage them using Kubernetes.

- Write automation scripts using Python or Shell for infrastructure tasks, monitoring, and deployment flows.

- Develop utilities and tools to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

Monitoring & Incident Management :

- Analyze system performance and implement infrastructure scaling strategies based on load and usage trends.

- Optimize application and system performance through proactive monitoring and configuration tuning.

Desired Skills and Experience :

- Experience Required - 8+ yrs.

- Hands-on experience on cloud services like AWS, EKS etc.

- Ability to design a good cloud solution.

- Strong Linux troubleshooting, Shell Scripting, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Jenkins Skills.

- Design and implement the CI/CD pipeline following the best industry practices using open-source tools.

- Use knowledge and research to constantly modernize our applications and infrastructure stacks.

- Be a team player and strong problem-solver to work with a diverse team.

- Having good communication skills.

We store multibillion files and multiple petabytes of data. We observe more than 11K API requests per second on average. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

•  Design, build and maintain self-hosted and cloud environments to serve our own applications and services.

•  Collaborate with software developers to build stable, scalable and high-performance solutions.

•   Taking part in big projects like migrating solutions from self-hosted environments to the cloud, from virtual machines to Kubernetes, from monolith to microservices.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

•  5+ years of proven experience in a DevOps Engineer, System Administrator or Developer role, working on infrastructure or build processes.

•  Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure.

•  Programming prowess (Python, Golang).

• Knowledge and experience about deployment and maintenance of Java and Python apps using application and web servers (Tomcat, Nginx, etc.).

• Ability to solve complex problems with simple, elegant and clean code.

• Practical knowledge of CI/CD solutions, GitLab CI or similar.

• Practical knowledge of Docker as a tool for testing and building an environment.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and related technologies.

• Experience with metric-based monitoring solutions.

• Solid English skills to effectively communicate with other team members.

• Good understanding of the Linux Operating System on the administration level.

• Drive to grow as a DevOps Engineer (we value open-mindedness and a can-do attitude).

• Strong sense of ownership and ability to drive big projects.

BONUS SKILLS:

• Work experience as a Microsoft Azure architect.

Title: Cloud DevOps Engineer 

Role: Individual Contributor (4-8 yrs)  

Requirements: 

• Energetic self-starter, a fast learner, with a desire to work in a startup environment  
• Experience working with Public Clouds like AWS 

• Operating and Monitoring cloud infrastructure on AWS. 
• Primary focus on building, implementing and managing operational support 
• Design, Develop and Troubleshoot Automation scripts (Configuration/Infrastructure as code or others) for Managing Infrastructure. 
• Expert at one of the scripting languages – Python, shell, etc  
• Experience with Nginx/HAProxy, ELK Stack, Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus-Grafana stack, etc 

• Handling load monitoring, capacity planning, and services monitoring. 
• Proven experience With CICD Pipelines and Handling Database Upgrade Related Issues.

• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra.
• Knowledge of data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.
• Experience in working on linux based servers.
• Managing large scale production grade infrastructure on AWS Cloud.
• Good Knowledge on scripting languages like ruby, python or bash.
• Experience in creating in deployment pipeline from scratch.
• Expertise in any of the CI tools, preferably Jenkins.
• Good knowledge of docker containers and its usage.
• Using Infra/App Monitoring tools like, CloudWatch/Newrelic/Sensu.

Good to have:

• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails based applications and its deployment methodologies.
• Experience working on Container Orchestration tools like Kubernetes/ECS/Mesos.
• Extra Points For Experience With Front-end development NewRelic GCP Kafka, Elasticsearch.
