DevOps Engineer – 3+ Years

About the Role:

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience to build and manage CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, containerized deployments, and production monitoring.

You will work closely with Architects, Developers, QA, and Integration teams to deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready applications across AWS and Microsoft Azure environments.

What You’ll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Deploy, manage, and monitor applications on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Build and manage containerized applications using Docker.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Configure IAM, Key Vault/Secrets Manager, networking, SSL, and secure deployment processes.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Troubleshoot build, deployment, and production issues in collaboration with development teams.
• Maintain deployment documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD practices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Strong Linux administration skills.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and container lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of Terraform or other IaC tools.
• Good understanding of DNS, SSL, Load Balancers, Firewalls, and Virtual Networks.
• Basic operational knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.

The candidate must have 2-3 years of experience in the domain. The responsibilities include:

● Deploying system on Linux-based environment using Docker

● Manage & maintain the production environment

● Deploy updates and fixes

● Provide Level 1 technical support

● Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience

● Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems

● Perform root cause analysis for production errors

● Investigate and resolve technical issues

● Develop scripts to automate visualization

● Experience working on Linux-based infrastructure

● Excellent understanding of MERN Stack, Docker & Nginx (Good to have Node Js)

• Integrate gates into CI/CD pipeline and push all flaws/issues to developers IDE (as far left as possible) - ideally in code repo but required by the time code is in the artifact repository.

• Demonstrable experience in Containerization-Docker and orchestration (Kubernetes)     
• Experience withsetting up self-managed Kubernetes clusters without using any managed cloud offerings like EKS 
• Experience working withAWS - Managing AWS services - EC2, S3, Cloudfront, VPC, SNS, Lambda, AWS Autoscaling, AWS IAM, RDS, EBS, Kinesis, SQS, DynamoDB, Elastic Cache, Redshift, Cloudwatch, Amazon Inspector. 

• Familiarity withLinux and UNIX systems (e.g. CentOS, RedHat) and command line system administration such as Bash, VIM, SSH.
• Hands on experience in configuration management of server farms (using tools such asPuppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.,).

• Demonstrated understanding of ITIL methodologies, ITIL v3 or v4 certification
• Kubernetes CKA or CKAD certification nice to have

• Work with the development team to plan, execute and monitor deployments
• Capacity planning for product deployments
• Adopt best practices for deployment and monitoring systems
• Ensure the SLAs for performance, up time are met
• Constantly monitor systems, suggest changes to improve performance and decrease costs.

Key Competencies (Functional):

• Proficiency in coding in atleast one scripting language - bash, Python, etc
• Has personally managed a fleet of servers (> 15)
• Understand different environments production, deployment and staging
• Worked in micro service / Service oriented architecture systems
• Has worked with automated deployment systems – Ansible / Chef / Puppet.
• Can write MySQL queries

• 5+ years of experience managing a team of 5+ infrastructure software engineers 

• 5+ years of experience in building and scaling technical infrastructure 

• 5+ years of experience in delivering software 

• Experience leading by influence in multi-team, cross-functional projects 

• Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management and managing engineers 

• Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure 

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker

Skills and Experience

• 4+ years of experience in building infrastructure experience with Cloud Providers ( AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Experience in deploying containerized applications build on NodeJS/PHP/Python to kubernetes cluster.

• Experience in monitoring production workload with relevant metrics and dashboards.

• Experience in writing automation scripts using Shell, Python, Terraform, etc.

• Experience in following security practices while setting up the infrastructure. 

• Self-motivated, able, and willing to help where help is needed

• Able to build relationships, be culturally sensitive, have goal alignment, have learning agility  

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage various resources across different cloud providers. (Azure, AWS, and GCP)

• Monitor and optimize infrastructure cost.

• Manage various kubernetes clusters with appropriate monitoring and alerting setup.

• Build CI/CD pipelines to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of various services into kubernetes infrastructure.

• Work closely with the development team on upcoming features to determine the correct infrastructure and related tools.

• Assist the support team with escalated customer issues.

• Develop, improve, and thoroughly document operational practices and procedures. 

• Responsible for setting up good security practices across various clouds.
