About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Lead Data Specialist who will own and drive the planning, execution, and implementation of our data initiatives. You will work independently to manage both data engineering and analytics, building scalable pipelines, designing data models, creating impactful dashboards, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to unlock the value of our data. This role provides an exciting opportunity to shape Jules AI’s data strategy while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive insights and impact.
What you will do in this role
Data Strategy & Ecosystem Development:
- Design and implement scalable data architectures to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Set up and manage a modern data stack leveraging tools like DBT, Snowflake, Fivetran, and Metabase (or equivalent).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine data requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
Data Engineering:
- Develop and maintain ELT pipelines to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable data availability.
- Optimize and debug data pipelines for improved performance and reliability.
- Implement data quality controls, validation procedures, and robust data governance practices.
Data Analytics & Insights:
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support decision-making.
- Develop and refine data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights.
- Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses to uncover trends and provide actionable recommendations.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with product, engineering, and AI teams to integrate analytics into product development efforts.
- Mentor and guide junior team members to foster a data-driven culture.
- Act as the go-to data expert for internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment across all data-driven initiatives.
Who we are looking for
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and scripting.
- Expertise in DBT for data transformation and managing modern data stacks.
- Proven experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Metabase, Tableau, or Power BI).
- Deep understanding of ETL/ELT patterns and data warehouse design.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Snowflake.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver end-to-end data projects independently.
Preferred:
- Experience in consumer technology or startup environments.
