Role: Head of Category and Merchandise As a head of the category team, you will focus on delivering a world-class customer experience and exceptional sales and margin growth for all categories and rapidly expand and grow our selection from around the world. Job Responsibilities - PnL: Managing P&L of entire category function and achieve business goals with both revenue targets as well as the gross margins. - Strategic & Tactical Maneuvers: Strategizing on which categories to scale to what extent at what time and which new categories to be added to the portfolio to align with the strategic requirements of the organization. This will include seasonal as well as long term plans.- Leadership Skills: Motivating the team and boosting the team bonding- TrendSpotting: Analysing data and insights to spot consumer and industry trends to grow the marketplace. - Cross-Functional Capabilities: Should be able to fruitfully coordinate with marketing, supply chain, cataloging, finance/commercial and other functions of the organization. - Supervision and Monitoring of Operations: Should have prior experience or enough knowledge & confidence to mentor / supervise merchandising operations. Inbound planning, Cataloging monitoring & Discount monitoring, etc should be managed. Required Qualification- 8-10 yrs of relevant work experience in e-commerce and managed a category team of 40+ members- Startup Cultural Fit: willingness to learn, to innovate, to take initiative, to think beyond conventional dogma, the ability to work in a flat organization - He/She should be good at multitasking, critical thinking and comfortable with leading a team. - Extremely strong analytical problem-solving attitude - Proven track record of finding innovative solutions to business problems

The candidate will look into the end-to-end product development life cycle that includes: 1. Delivering monthly targets to create fresh and innovative food products 2. Analyze data to identify products that will work for the brand within the framework set 3. Negotiate with potential vendors to be able to source product at competitive prices 4. Build and grow relationship with vendors to capture maximum value from vendor's manufacturing setup 5. Visualize and develop packaging solution to suit the product 6. Ensure FSSAI regulations and other compliances are addressed to ensure product is ready to launch 7. Strategize and create go-to-market plan 8. Liaise with teams to ensure smooth launch of products in market 9. Strategize and implement marketing to ensure product off-take is maximized 10. Own and build relationships for sales from online marketplaces/alternate channels
- Help team to do sales closure and do QA of the calls and provide them feedback for improvement.- Responsible for revenue generation, P/L for category(s) and achieving targets- Develop and implement a complete end to end process from lead generation to close and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs and results.- Do market research and involve in doing competitor study and provide the solution to improve the product and design sales strategy.- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate team members.- Establish and implement short and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.- Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project development.- Constantly monitor the competitive landscape and market conditions to identify opportunities, issues, and risks to recommend tactical strategies- Supervise the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials.- Supervise the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs.- Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance sales operations.- Monitor team member performance and making sure the target assigned should be reached.
