Performance Test Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Tester to develop, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases based on software requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in testing web and mobile applications, collaborating with Product Owners (POs), Development Leads, and providing effort estimations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases based on software requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Owners (POs) and Development Leads to understand project requirements and provide effort estimations.
• Perform thorough manual testing of software applications, including functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
• Execute test cases and report results in a detailed and structured manner.
• Identify, document, and track defects and inconsistencies in the software using appropriate tools.
• Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide feedback on testability and quality.
• Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Perform exploratory testing to identify areas of potential risk and areas not covered by formal test cases.
• Ensure all testing activities are conducted in accordance with the Agile methodology.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in manual testing of web and mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in developing and maintaining test plans and test cases.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to identify, document, and track defects and inconsistencies in the software.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

• MS or BS in Computer Science or a related subject.
• At least five (5+) years of web application testing and automation experience.
• Taking complete ownership of product testing efforts.
• Proficiency in Java/ Python or any other Object-Oriented Language.
• Experience of Selenium & WebServices or REST API testing or backend testing
• Ability to design and develop test automation frameworks from scratch
• Experience in CI/ CD setup preferably with Jenkin
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Expert in methodically developing use-cases-
• Expert at writing automation test cases using Selenium.
• Expert at testing the web application for both functionality and performance.
• Understands what world-class quality for SAAS Products 
• Expert at communicating the QA results with the engineering teams
• Expert at increasing visibility for blocker/critical issues.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the execution of manual testing procedures to ensure the functionality, usability, and performance of software applications.
• Create and execute test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
• Document test results, defects, and issues encountered during testing.
• Work collaboratively with developers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Participate in test plan and test case reviews to ensure thorough test coverage.
• Assist in the identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA process.
• Support the QA team in various tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• Strong interest in software testing and quality assurance.
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with testing tools and technologies is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous internship or coursework in software testing or quality assurance.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools, such as JIRA or TestRail.
• Basic understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
• Knowledge of automated testing tools and frameworks.

• Managing the solving of problems concerning the test automation infrastructure
• Understand and maintain Test Automation Frameworks.
• Follow the coding standards and code walk through.
• Maintain Automation Standards and Processes documentation.
• Write automated test scripts under the direction of the Test Automation Lead.
• Ability to work independently on tasks / modules assigned related to automation
• Monitoring of and reporting on the progress of the test automation process
• Reporting on the quality of the test object
• Raise risks on time and provide alternate solutions to mitigate the risk
• Advice and support for the implementation of all types of tools

• Experience in testing web-based applications.
• Experience in developing test cases and scenarios based on PRD/BRD/Use cases.
• Experience in testing Web Services
• Logging defects/bugs in the defect management tool
• Tracking the defects and retire them with appropriate test execution
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Tools and Technologies:

• Should have strong knowledge and hands-on with SQL, Java, and Selenium
• Good/Fair knowledge of angular framework and Protractor with JavaScript/TypeScript
• Hands-on with any of the defect management tools like Jira/Bugzilla
• Knowledge of J-meter, Soap UI is a plus

• 3-7 years of hands on experience in mobile app testing - iOS / Android 
• Mobile automation expertise (iOS, Android) using Appium. 
• Experience having automated in an Agile environment. 
• Experience with issue tracking tool (JIRA) and reporting tools. 
• Experience with source code management and build tools - Git, SVN, Maven, Gradle 
• Experience in using Charles Tool / Fiddler 
• Programming language: Java 
• Automation tool: Selenium, Appium 
• Others: Jira, GIT, Maven, Gradle, Bamboo, TestNG 

• Experience working and automating in REST APIs based WS environment. 
• Strong knowledge on current automation trends. 
• Knowledge of Performance testing on mobile applications. 
• Experience with continuous integration using bamboo/Jenkins

We're looking for a QA Engineer to help with manual testing as well as introduce automation to our processes where possible. Candidates will need to be familiar with and able to write scripts, set up automation processes, and familiarise themselves with the products we build (web and mobile apps).

• The role will also require you to document test cases with an understanding of what the product does and how the end-user might approach it.
• Understand functional and non-functional testing requirements of web and mobile applications.
• Document functional testing scenarios and cases, for manual testing of API functionality using Postman and manual testing of User Interface elements (web, mobile, and mobile web)
• Identify or create data for testing
• Execute test cases and record status
• Log defects identified and track them through retesting and closure
• Debug using ADB commands and tools like Charles Proxy to primarily identify the root cause of failures.

Skill:

• Good understanding of mobile and web applications functionality
• Good understanding of how APIs work functionally
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Non-functional testing of mobile applications including but not limited to battery analysis, GPU overdraw, responsiveness, etc.
