Responsibilities:

1. Relevant Experience required 3 to 5 years.
2. Strong proficiency in python programming language along with expertise in backend development framework such as
3. Django or Flask. (DSA and Design patterns are mandatory).
4. Hand on Experience in REST API development and database such as PostgreSQL.
5. Good knowledge of versions control systems like GIT, Bitbucket
6. Implementation testing strategies such as unit testing (PyTest), integration testing and end to end testing 
7. Basic knowledge of Docker/Podman and Jenkins.

*Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications with a focus on PostgreSQL integration.

*Proficient in anyone of the following AWS/Azure/Angular/React/Flask.

*Create and optimize complex database queries, stored procedures, and functions in PostgreSQL.

*Utilize Python libraries (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Psycopg2, Pandas, NumPy) for efficient data processing and manipulation.

*Develop RESTful APIs for application functionality and data interaction.

*Ensure application performance, scalability, and security.

About the Role

As a Senior/Lead Software Engineer at CallHub, you will play a critical role in leading the development and enhancement of our cloud-based communication and telephony platform (SaaS). Your Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex, scalable, reliable, and highly available features for world-class SaaS products and services.

What we’re looking for

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of leading engineering teams and mentoring junior developers.
• Strong expertise in designing and developing scalable backend systems, web services, and REST APIs using Python/Django or similar frameworks.
• Solid understanding of cloud-based architectures and microservices, with experience in deploying and maintaining SaaS applications.
• Solid experience in software engineering principles, including CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, code reviews, and version control (e.g., Git).
• Proficiency in working with databases like PostgreSQL, and experience in optimizing queries and ensuring high availability.
• Deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience with frontend technologies such as React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and an understanding of how they integrate with backend services.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and make informed technical decisions in dynamic environments.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to empathize with customer needs and translate them into impactful software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Enhance existing services and applications to increase availability, reliability, and scalability.
• Manage testing and bug fixes and work across the engineering team to build new features and services at scale.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Backend Developer (Python/Django)
• Understanding of micro-service architecture and RESTful API integration patterns.
• Experience with implementing test frameworks for unit testing and building acceptance testing
• 4+ years experience in SQL RDBMS (MySQL, specifically)
• 2+ years experience in ElasticSearch.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

• Experience with distributed source control management (Git).
• Experience using Agile methodologies – previous experience working from a backlog, sprints, retrospectives, etc.

The Python Backend Engineer position may be a good fit for you if:

1. You have 3 (or more) years of experience building and maintaining cloud applications.
2. You have built APIs with Python, Flask, Django or FastAPI before.
3. You have experience working with relational databases like PostgresSQL or MySQL and have spent time writing SQL queries for large datasets.
4. Experience in writing Unit tests with pytest.
5. You have worked with Docker, docker-compose.
6. Familiarity with the AWS ECS stack.

• Knowledge in building applications for Fintech/payments domain is a bonus
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or equivalent from a reputed institution
• Self-starter, hustler, and a desire to achieve greatness is a MUST
