NodeJs Backend Developer

SENIOR ENGINEER BACKEND JOB DESCRIPTION 

To design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and efficient backend systems that power  core business applications. The Senior Engineer – Backend will be responsible for architecting APIs, optimizing data flow, and ensuring system reliability and performance. This role will collaborate closely  with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver robust solutions that enable seamless user 

experiences and support organizational growth through clean,maintainable, andwell-tested code. 

Responsibilities: 

• Design,develop, andmaintainrobust andscalable backendservices usingNode.js. • Collaborate with front-end developers and productmanagersto define and implement API specifications. 

• Optimize application performance and scalability by identifying bottlenecks and  proposing solutions. 

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, and conduct code reviews to ensure quality standards. 

• Developunittests andmaintain code coverage toensure highquality. 

• Document architectural solutions and system designs to ensure clarity and  maintainability. 

• Troubleshoot andresolve issuesindevelopment,testing, and production environments. • Stay up to date withemerging technologies and industry trendsto continuously improve our tech  stack. 

• Mentor andguide junior engineers,fostering a culture oflearning andgrowth. 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

• 5+ yearsof experience in backenddevelopmentwith a focusonNode.js andJavascript. • StrongunderstandingofRESTfulAPIs andmicroservices architecture. 

• Proficiency in database technologies (SQL and NoSQL, such as DynamoDB, MongoDB,  PostgreSQL,etc.). 

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies(Docker, Kubernetes). • Knowledgeof cloudplatform(AWS) anddeploymentbest practices. 

• Excellentproblem-solving skillsandtheability toworkina fast-pacedenvironment. • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Your Impact:

•                 Implements Digital Consumer experiences based on a foundation of SFCC (Salesforce commerce cloud) to meet expected quality standards

•                 Ensures functional requirements and high-level solution designs are understood and are translated into detailed technical design

•                 Implement proofs of concept to prove any new technologies, application flows or integration scenarios and identify customizations needed to SFCC platform for meeting client requirements

•                 Guides the performance tuning and scalability of the ecommerce solution

•                 Diagnose and solve technical problems during implementation and support phases

Your Skills & Experience:

•                 4-8 Years with 2+ years of implementing commerce application on any eCommerce platform in last 3 years

•                 If you have not worked in eCommerce platform, we can still discuss with you if you are expert in Java/.Net and understand REST/SOAP webservices.

•                 Demonstrate proficiency in build and release management using CI/CD strategies (leveraging tools like Jenkins and DevOps practices), implement Mocha/Chai unit and functional test cases in order to reduce costs while ensuring quality

•                 Contributes to designing, implementing and documenting the build release process as well as system configuration and deployment characteristics of the applications

•                 Participates in technical walkthroughs/ code reviews of other team members’ components, test plans and results and help them with gaps

•                 Collaborate with architect to define implementation processes and quality gates and standards

•                 Identifies risks and issues, and help monitor them

•                 Guides the development of reference and resource materials

•                 Mentors developers in improving their platform knowledge and development skills

•                 Communicate technical design to the developers and help/guide them in the implementation

•                 Participates in Agile sprints

1. Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using NodeJS and have at least 3 - 4
2. years’ experience on the same.
3. Should have excellent in-depth knowledge on Nodejs and Mongo DB.
4. Working knowledge of RESTful web services.
5. Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3.
6. Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
7. Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
8. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
9. Good communication skills.
10. Experience in working effectively within a team.

Responsibilities :

- Design and develop highly scalable, highly available, reliable, secure and fault-tolerant systems with minimal guidance for one of the fastest-growing company in India

- Translate business requirements into scalable and extensible design

- Pair with team members on functional and nonfunctional requirements and spread design philosophy, goals and improve the code quality across the team

- Partner with the product management team to define and execute the feature roadmap

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Mobile, UX etc.) on planning and execution

- Proactively manage stakeholder communication related to deliverables, risks, changes and dependencies

- The building of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

Experience and Skills :

- 2+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing and deploying applications on Node.JS for large scale applications.

- Strong proficiency with JavaScript

- Understanding of Asynchronous Request handling techniques.

- Deep knowledge of Linux : CentOS, Fedora, or Ubuntu

- Data modeling experience in Relational and NoSQL databases(MONGO DB)

- Ability to understand and implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

- Well versed with Agile methodologies, TDD and Test Engineering and Automation

- Ability to design and implement low latency RESTful services

- Experience troubleshooting server performance - memory issues, GC tuning, resource leaks, etc.

- Excellent understanding of interactive application development paradigm, memory management, performance/resource optimizations, database interactions, network programming, concurrency and multithreading, fault tolerance, monitoring, security and operability of systems

- Continuously refactor applications to ensure high-quality design

- Ability to plan, prioritize, estimate and execute releases with a good degree of predictability
