Ruby on Rails Developer

We are looking for a backend developer who is keen on exploring opportunities in No / Low Code-based backend platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, modifying, and implementing new or existing software products on Xano platform. The developer should possess strong knowledge of database design, business logic and creating REST APIs.

• Meeting with project managers to discuss the scope of software projects.
• Understand project requirements & design implementation approach
• Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
• Writing and implementing, clean, scalable code.
• Creating REST APIs for consumption by web or mobile apps.
• Analyzing existing solutions for modification purposes.
• Troubleshooting and debugging code.
• 2+ years of experience in web development and software design.
• Fluency in languages, such as Laravel, NodeJs or Python
• Experience working with MySQL or Postgres databases
• Experience in creating REST APIs for web and mobile apps
• Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools.
• Focus on efficiency, user experience, and process improvement.
• Strong problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Willingness to work on No / Low Code platforms
• Bonus: Experience working with Xano or other No / Low Code Platforms.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced senior web developer to join our friendly team to participate in the

development of the next-generation app and who has the technical ability to implement server side

code written in the Laravel framework. Your main responsibility will be designing and implementing

applications that are written in PHP. This means you will work closely with front end developers to

integrate back-end components with the components they're creating for users to interact with.

Therefore, it is important that youre able to effectively communicate and collaborate with your

colleagues. You will take a lead role in the technical side of our company with room to grow as we

continue to grow.

Skills Required:

• Extensive experience in PHP Laravel, API Gateway

• Hands-on experience in web services-RESTful

• Knowledge of RESTful API design patterns and Integrations technologies. JSON

Language and scripting as well as Rest Oriented Architecture (ROA)

• Knowledge of HTTP and SOAP Protocols

• Hands-on experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL / MS SQL development including data

modelling, concurrency, query optimization, stored procedure development, and tuning

Responsibilities:

• Ability to work closely with technical architects and architecture governance technical

team for solution development and design reviews

• Analyse, design, develop, as well as implement RESTful services and APIs

• Be involved in the development life cycle and perform definition and feasibility analysis as

well as in the API lifecycle release management

• Implement, integrate, and document a variety of software platforms through the RESTful

API framework

• API development with OpenAPI Specifications and other standards

• Apply the latest software design techniques and contribute to the technical design of new

solutions

• Modify existing programs, prepare test data and functional specifications.

• Troubleshoot issues and solve problems, identify potential process improvement areas

• Implement common APIs based on architecture guidelines and frameworks

• Responsible for mapping, designing specs for transformation between API Gateway and

backend service

• Write object-oriented, clean, and maintainable code

• Deliver quality results on time with minimal supervision

• Ensuring that integrations run smoothly.

• Scaling projects based on client feedback.

• Mentoring/training in API architecture & code quality

• Work closely with API Solutions Architect and Platform Administrators

• Work closely with the Business Product Owners, and must understand the short and

medium term strategy for the business

Requirements:

• Experience working with PHP, performing unit testing, and managing APIs such as

RESTful.

• A solid understanding of application design using Laravel.

• Knowledge of database design and querying using SQL.

• Proficiency in HTML and JavaScript.

• Practical experience using the MVC architecture.

Work Location

This role will be based remotely in Hyderabad / Bangalore and requires a frequent travel for short trips to customer site during the working week once the restriction are lifted.

• Confidence speaking and presenting in a collaborative customer setting
• 5+ years of software development/consulting/support experience, preferably in a number of distinct industries/verticals
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and software deployment and operations
• Competence in at least one of the following languages (in no particular order): Java, C#, Python, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, Go.
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning; Windows tuning knowledge is a plus
• Should have the strong capability with, minimally, both English and any local language - as necessary
