Responsibilities
Position title: Aerospace Project Engineer
Summary -
The Aerospace Project Engineer is responsible for planning, directing, evaluating and monitoring all new product introductions of customer projects to ensure a seamless launch from concept to customer delivery. Specifically, the role will support aerospace customers in the assigned region and help bring projects in this region to production. The PE role is necessary to support TSS’ targeted growth in aerospace. The PE role will manage product
launch schedules and assign and/or coordinate work packages between sales, engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing and customers. This role is critical to ensure all projects are driven to successful completion and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
The PE will work closely with application engineering, sales engineers and the General Manager.
The PE is assigned to complex and/or strategic projects for key customers and targets.
The PE will assist in driving a continuous improvement culture and contribute ideas and concepts to improve processes. They will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service and total satisfaction while building positive customer relationships to help enable the development of new business opportunities. The PE will be supported by sales, engineering, and manufacturing for a successful product launch and project completion.
Responsibilities:
- The primary function of the PE position is to provide the management and coordination of customer projects and new product introduction as well as assist in regional development of the aerospace market in APAC.
- The PE will be responsible for following established practices as well as reviewing for and implementing continuous improvements.
- Tasks and Activities may include:
- Manage projects by following TSS procedures and best practices
- Development, coordinate and/or manage customer requests (RFI, RFQ, Q&A) including creation of quotations or proposals
- Risk analysis and mitigation using various project management tools
- Create and manage project schedules using Microsoft Office Project
- Generate proposals, both technical and commercial
- Coordinate technical and commercial reviews
- Ensure all project deliverables captured and delivered on time
- Ensure quality requirements are captured, communicated and completed
- Facilitate regular meetings with project stake holders to maintain communication, project status
- Regularly update project status monitoring tools
- Work with cross functional groups to deliver to project work packages
- Encourage and implement a Continuous Improvement Culture and capture gains.
- Identify, research, develop and implement automation opportunities in the CSC
- Provide proactive communication, analysis and problem solving
- Provide innovative solutions and continuous improvements
- Assist in management reviews, business reviews and business plans, month end reporting
Geography to cover and Travel requirements
- The PE will reside in the local office in China (Shanghai)/India (Bengaluru) and support the assigned territories
- Travel is required to visit customer sites, sales offices, and manufacturing facilities. Estimated travel days per year: 30-50 days, depending on project requirements
Key Performance Indicators:
- On-time Quote Response: On-time delivery of competitive quotation to customers
- Opportunity Hit-Rate: Achieving percentage target assigned to region across all projects involved based on revenue
- On-time Project Delivery: On-time and within-budget project completion
Mandatory Skills:
- Experience in the Aerospace Industry
- Experience in rubber, plastic or composite manufacturing
- Familiarity with ISO or AS quality requirements
- Experience using project management software such as MS Project, Clarity, Daptiv, Jira
