Enterprise Data Architect - Dataeconomy (25+ Years Experience)

Responsibilities:

Strategic Vision and Leadership:

Lead the creation and execution of a long-term data strategy aligned with the company's overall vision and goals.

Champion a data-driven culture across the organization, fostering cross-functional collaboration and data literacy.

Advise senior leadership on strategic data initiatives and their impact on business performance.

Architecture and Modernization:

Evaluate and modernize the existing data architecture, recommending and implementing innovative solutions.

Design and implement a scalable data lake/warehouse architecture for future growth.

Advocate for and adopt cutting-edge data technologies and best practices.

ETL Tool Experience (8+ years):

Extensive experience in designing, developing, and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using industry-standard tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, Microsoft SSIS, or open-source options like Apache Airflow.

Proven ability to build and maintain complex data pipelines that integrate data from diverse sources, transform it into usable formats, and load it into target systems.

Deep understanding of data quality and cleansing techniques to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data across the organization.

Data Governance and Quality:

Establish and enforce a comprehensive data governance framework ensuring data integrity, consistency, and security.

Develop and implement data quality standards and processes for continuous data improvement.

Oversee the implementation of master data management and data lineage initiatives.

Collaboration and Mentorship:

Mentor and guide data teams, including architects, engineers, and analysts, on data architecture principles and best practices.

Foster a collaborative environment where data insights are readily shared and acted upon across the organization.

Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand and translate their data needs into actionable solutions.

Qualifications:

Education: master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field; Ph.D. preferred.

Experience: 25+ years of experience in data architecture and design, with 10+ years in a leadership role.

Technical Skills:

Deep understanding of TOGAF, AWS, MDM, EDW, Hadoop ecosystem (MapReduce, Hive, HBase, Pig, Flume, Scoop), cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Google Big Query), modern data pipelines, streaming analytics, data governance frameworks.

Proficiency in programming languages (Java, Python, SQL), scripting languages (Bash, Python), data modelling tools (ER diagramming software), and BI tools.

Extensive expertise in ETL tools (Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, Microsoft SSIS, Apache Airflow)

Familiarity with emerging data technologies (AI/ML, blockchain), data security and compliance frameworks.

The open position is for a candidate who desires to work with government clients and bring about a change in society. A successful candidate will be expected to work pro-actively and effectively on multiple client engagements over the period of time and take ownership of the entire project delivery he/she entrusted with.

Proposed role requires a candidate with relevant experience in Enterprise/Solution Architecture. He/She would have lead the process improvement and solution conceptualization and handled large integrations involving the latest technologies in the field of solution architecture. The architect should have a successful track record in managing and implementing e-government projects with particular focus on business components, and has contributed to the IT Strategy, maintenance of the information strategy and use architecture to support business and process change.

The candidate should strong interpersonal skills, who not only enjoys the challenge of working with other team members but externally with a diverse, senior-Government officials across varied Ministries and PSUs. Recent experience and understanding of the Indian business ecosystem and government initiatives is a must.

The candidate will be required to showcase excellent communication skills and will have demonstrated consistently the skill and capability in delivering impactful and insightful projects in the past. He/she will also be required to participate in client meetings and, during the course of a project, will be responsive to client enquiries, eventually leading the delivery engagement.

They will also be expected to contribute to Practice or Firm development. This may be adjudged in various ways such as serving as a mentor to other team members, by leading training/development initiatives, contributing to thought leadership papers, assisting other network firms etc.

Positions are with PwC’s Government and Public Service (G&PS) practice, which works

with Central & State Governments, PSUs, donor agencies etc. The position can be based in Delhi or Kolkata. However the ideal candidate should not have any constraints to travel for work related opportunities, whether domestic or internationally.

• Strong object oriented concepts. Experience in structure object oriented modelling with preferred expertise in using tools like Enterprise Architect or similar. Experience in working with TOGAF standards is preferred.
• Experience in architecting the technical scale and scope of high volume, scalable enterprise software solutions including logical and physical landscape requirements with specific attention to design, development, and deployment strategies
• Capability to adapt, learn and work with multiple technology platforms. 
• Knowledge in Application Security including Information security principles & realization, OWASP & PCI DSS Compliance ( Security Design & Technology Skills )
• In depth knowledge and experience in large scale database management, data modelling and database design in RDBMS and NoSQL.
• Experience in recommending and implementing DevOps tools for enterprise projects.
• Capability to evaluate tools, technologies and processes, including assessing their strategic benefit in the solution.
• Willingness to work hands-on with engineers to review, troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently.
• Expertise in following technologies – ASP.Net MVC, Web API, ASP.Net Core, Entity Framework, Entity Framework Core, ASP.Net Identity, REST
• Experience in implementing various application deployment models and monitoring the server infrastructure using industry standard tools.
• Experience in docker based deployment models.
• Experience in architecting, developing and deploying cloud based (One or more among AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) enterprise solutions.
• Experience in designing and developing micro-services based applications. 
• Experience in designing and developing solutions with TDD (Test Driven Development)
