Job Title: Project Manager

Job Description

As our project manager, your job will be to coordinate people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. You will be the go-to person for

everything involving a project’s organization and timeline. One should be able to develop detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation and delivering every project on time within budget and scope.Project managers should have a background in IT skills, management, budgeting and analysis.

You should be an excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks. you also need to be a team player and have a problem-solving aptitude.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

• Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring Technical Feasibility.

• Ensure resource availability and allocation.

• Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.

• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.

• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.

• Report and escalate to management as needed.

• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.

• Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Requirements and skills:

• Great educational background, preferably in the field of IT.

• Proven working experience as a project administrator in the information technology sector.

• Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software

development and web technologies.

• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

• PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus

The Incumbent will:  Be the key person accountable for Project Delivery- managing end to end delivery of high quality projects, meeting all required functionality, within allocated schedule and budget.  Managing the team assigned to deliver projects and achieve assigned project goals.  Be responsible to ensure continued customer delight.

 Own the entire delivery of assigned projects.  Responsible for managing multiple projects involving 15-20-member team consisting of middle layer (PL/GL/TL) and the teams under them.  Responsible for the end to end delivery; ensuring that Project Delivery Metrics are controlled throughout the project lifecycle. Tracking project requirements and implementation throughout different phases.  Participate in business meetings with Function/Delivery Heads; review contracts, carry out risk analysis and mitigation exercises and update the Management on the same.  Project managers should have strong business management, budgeting and analytical skills.  Review and ensure the preparation of the following: ▪ System Architecture ▪ External Specifications & Internal Specifications ▪ Software Development Plan, Configuration Management Plan and Project plan ▪ Technical Documentation ▪ Weekly status updates to all stakeholders  Ensure process and system compliances in the projects.  Exhibit excellent escalation management skills, internal or external.  Manage FPP (Fixed Price Project) & T&M (Time & Material) projects on diverse functional domains  Coordinate, communicate with the client on project related matters.  Coach/ mentor the members in the project and provide necessary support to them.  Performance appraisal/ counselling of the group members.  Evaluate training needs (technical, managerial) and get the required training programs implemented.  Ensure project compliance with Company's Quality Systems and Procedures.

 The incumbent must be B.E/B. Tech. -CS/ IT/ MCA, M.Tech from a reputed institute, with 10-12 years of relevant industry experience across a wide variety of development projects.  Knowledge of current technological trends in the S/W development industry, such as OOP’s, Multi-Tier S/W development, Component Architecture, Web Based S/W  Good experience on Core Java, JSP, Servlets, EJB, Oracle/SQL, planning, budgeting & QA  PMP or PMI certification is desirable. Domain knowledge of BFSI practices is an advantage.  Thorough understanding of Project Management methodologies and tools.  Advanced knowledge of system integration issues and Data Analysis  Understanding the company’s vision and goals, business operations and market.  Is adept in stakeholder management and possess the ability to coordinate and prioritize customer requests with the assistance of other managers to ensure customer delight.  Possess good people management skills and is able to manage performance and disciplinary issues, handle employee complaints and grievances and recommend the hiring, termination and promotion of staff; Should be able to train, mentor, motivate and lead a successful team. Should be well versed with attrition related issues and case management.  Should have: Strong leadership abilities, self-driven, critical thinking, analytical abilities, flexibility, adaptability to work schedules, effective verbal and written communication & presentation skills, time management, self-confidence, open to changes & challenges, eye for detail, perseverance, discreetness and diplomacy, analytical thinking, sound independent decision making and team work. The architect should have a successful track record in managing and implementing e-government projects with particular focus on business components, and has contributed to the IT Strategy, maintenance of the information strategy and use architecture to support business and process change.

The candidate should strong interpersonal skills, who not only enjoys the challenge of working with other team members but externally with a diverse, senior-Government officials across varied Ministries and PSUs. Recent experience and understanding of the Indian business ecosystem and government initiatives is a must.

The candidate will be required to showcase excellent communication skills and will have demonstrated consistently the skill and capability in delivering impactful and insightful projects in the past. He/she will also be required to participate in client meetings and, during the course of a project, will be responsive to client enquiries, eventually leading the delivery engagement.

They will also be expected to contribute to Practice or Firm development. This may be adjudged in various ways such as serving as a mentor to other team members, by leading training/development initiatives, contributing to thought leadership papers, assisting other network firms etc.

Positions are with PwC’s Government and Public Service (G&PS) practice, which works

with Central & State Governments, PSUs, donor agencies etc. The position can be based in Delhi or Kolkata. However the ideal candidate should not have any constraints to travel for work related opportunities, whether domestic or internationally.

• Ensure all tech projects are delivered on time and are profitable
• Work with Account Managers to understand project requirements
• Analyse, plan and develop requirements and standards in reference to the projects
• Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical team while ensuring each person on the team is actively working toward established milestones
• Hold daily technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
• Hold regular retrospectives to identify the positives and negatives of a project, and establish what the tech team can take forward from this
• Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for team members required for specific projects or initiatives
• Establish and implement training processes and strategies for the technical team with support from the L&D team and CTO
• Be part of the recruitment and training of exceptional employees to fulfil posted positions within the tech team
• Update and maintain all production technologies ensuring proper maintenance and installation

Qualifications 

• A bachelor's degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Strong credentials in software development and troubleshooting
• Demonstrated understanding of the software development lifecycle and Project Management processes, strategies and methods
• Experience in mentoring, coaching and developing rising talent in the technology department
• Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others
• Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams
• Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting teamwork 
• Experience in applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills for project management
• Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
• Professional Project Management Certification is an added advantage
