VMware Infrastructure Specialist
Job Description:
We are looking for experienced professionals with expertise in VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESXi, NFS, CIFS, and iSCSI. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in VMware administration, including vSphere, vMotion, and vSAN. The candidate should be available for a face-to-face interview at the IBM location and be ready for immediate reporting post-offer and background verification.
Experience Requirements:
We are hiring for multiple experience levels, as detailed below:
3 years of total experience with 2 years of relevant experience & 8+ years of total experience with 7 years of relevant experience in VMware Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and manage VMware vCenter, vSphere, and ESXi environments.
Maintain and troubleshoot NFS, CIFS, and iSCSI storage solutions within VMware infrastructure.
Manage vSphere, vMotion, and vSAN for high availability and disaster recovery.
Monitor and optimize virtualized environments for performance and efficiency.
Ensure security and compliance within VMware infrastructure.
Work closely with IT teams to deploy and integrate VMware solutions.
Provide technical support and documentation for VMware-related issues and upgrades.
Required Skills:
Expertise in VMware vCenter, vSphere, and ESXi.
Strong knowledge of NFS, CIFS, and iSCSI storage solutions.
Hands-on experience with vSphere, vMotion, and vSAN.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for VMware environments.
Understanding of virtualization best practices and security policies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
VMware certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional - VCP).
Experience with enterprise-level VMware deployments.
Knowledge of cloud-based virtualization solutions (AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environments).
Understand and Influence functional and nonfunctional requirements while working with product manager to drive a Test
driven development
Instill best practices for development and testing and champion their adoption, Mentor junior engineers on software design,
coding practices and TDD strategies
Set ambitious targets for test coverage and ensure teams are achieving it
Testing the product at multiple levels to improve user experience, predictability, performance, capacity, and reduce defects,
downtime, etc
Differentiate testing at multiple stages for sanity, integration, regression, unit testing, acceptance and set process and
guidelines for these
Full automation of testing for load, functional, recovery, security, response time, scalability etc and benchmark the modules
against all these parameters
Actively improve the architecture and design of testing modules, choose correct technologies, frameworks and libraries and
ensure adoption by junior SDET
Write good quality, modular, reusable, performant, well documented code for testing
Create common libraries & Utilities to be used by multiple engineering teams

- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases

- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
- Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
