Developer / Software Architect - Automotive BSW

MANDATORY CRITERIA:

• Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in ECE / CSE / IT
• Experience: 10–12 years in hardware board design, system hardware engineering, and full product deployment cycles
• Proven expertise in digital, analog, and power electronic circuit analysis & design
• Strong hands-on experience designing boards with SoCs, FPGAs, CPLDs, and MPSoC architectures
• Deep understanding of signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and high-speed design considerations
• Must have successfully completed at least two hardware product development cycles from high-level design to final deployment
• Ability to independently handle schematic design, design analysis (DC drop, SI), and cross-team design reviews
• Experience in sourcing & procurement of electronic components, PCBs, and mechanical parts for embedded/IoT/industrial hardware
• Strong experience in board bring-up, debugging, issue investigation, and cross-functional triage with firmware/software teams
• Expertise in hardware validation, test planning, test execution, equipment selection, debugging, and report preparation
• Proficiency in Cadence Allegro or Altium EDA tools (mandatory)
• Experience coordinating with layout, mechanical, SI, EMC, manufacturing, and supply chain teams
• Strong understanding of manufacturing services, production pricing models, supply chain, and logistics for electronics/electromechanical components

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Extensive experience in hardware board designs and towards multiple product field deployment cycles.
• Strong foundation and expertise in analyzing digital, Analog and power electronic circuits.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative work with cross-functional teams, including post-silicon bench validation, BIOS, and driver development/QA.
• Hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro/Altium EDA tools is essential.
• Familiarity with programming and scripting languages like Python and Perl, and experience in test automation is advantageous.
• Should have excellent exposure with coordination of Manufacturing Services, pricing model for production value supply chain & Logistics in electronics and electromechanical components domain.

Basic Qualification: BE / Btech Computer Science

Desirable Skills:

1.Software development using Embedded C, C++ with programming standards (MISRA)

2.Knowledge of bus systems, which are used in the automotive industry, like CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI, etc)

3.Software development processes –A-SPICE V-cycle

4.Experience with development of control units for the automotive industry, especially experience with the development based on AUTOSTAR basic software.

5. Experience in the automotive industry according to common development and parameterization tools (i.e. Vector CANoe).

6.Knowledge of standards for safety-critical software (ISO 26262) is a plus.

Primary skills:

At least 3+ years of working experience on embedded firmware development

- Experience in multithreaded programming, network programming (wired and wireless protocols), real-time programming, cross-platform and cross-language development

- Hands-on experience on driver development for various sensors

- Working knowledge of communication protocols like UART, I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet, etc

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, Debug simulink/stateflow models according to functional, technical requirements, MAAB guidelines.
• Derive software requirements from system level requirements and establish bi-directional traceability within the models and generated code.
• Generate Code from developed models, generate test vectors, automate tests and document code reviews, test results.
• Automate the data exchange flow between MATLAB models, excel sheets, code testing using m-scripts.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience in model based development and testing using Mathwork Tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, autocode generation tools Embedded coder or TargetLink.
• Good understanding of the Automotive software development cycle and tool chains
• Should possess a good understanding of C coding, m-scripting, with good debugging and software testing skills.
• Experience in developing MATLAB/ Simulink models from scratch for automotive applications.
• Should have experience in requirements management, and be able to write test cases from them.
• Experience in MBD testing such as MIL/ SIL/PIL.
• Good communication skills in English and Hindi Language.
• Experience in MATLAB verification and validation toolbox like Simulink Design Verifier, Simulink Test, Simulink Coverage is advantageous.

What you’ll do at Ather:

A successful candidate is expected to lead the Firmware development and integration effort for various Ather products and be responsible for qualifying and integrating FW at various stages with HW. Responsibilities include:

• Understanding requirements from different stakeholders and translating these to application features

• Writing high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines

• Unit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

• Performing functional and non-functional testing

• Troubleshooting and debugging applications

• Designing creative prototypes according to specifications

• Evaluating existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features

• Developing technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

• Identifying and communicating possible risks along with preventive and corrective measures

• Experience with static analyser, JTAG tools etc…
