We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Tester to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through meticulous testing and analysis. This role involves creating and executing test plans, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with developers to resolve issues. The specific responsibilities and required experience will vary depending on the level (Junior, Mid-Level, Senior, or Lead).   

Responsibilities (Adjust based on the level):

• Test Planning and Execution:
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and specifications.
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, and performance testing.
• Utilize test management tools to organize and track testing activities.
• For Senior/Lead roles: Design test strategies, and provide mentorship to junior testers.
• Defect Management:
• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems.
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve defects.
• Verify defect fixes and ensure they meet quality standards.
• Requirements Analysis:
• Review and analyze software requirements and specifications to ensure testability.
• Provide feedback on requirements and design documents.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.   
• Communicate testing progress and results effectively.
• For Senior/Lead roles: Lead meetings, and communicate with upper management.
• Automation (For Mid-Level, Senior, and Lead):
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, etc.).
• Implement and maintain continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Perform performance and load testing using appropriate tools

Position Summary:

As a QA Engineer at LimeChat, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of our messaging and communication applications. You will primarily focus on manual testing to identify issues, validate product functionality, and provide feedback to our development teams. Additionally, you will be involved in automation testing to enhance efficiency and test coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute test cases, identify defects, and report issues accurately.

• Conduct manual testing of LimeChat's messaging applications to verify product functionality and user experience.
• Develop and maintain test plans and test cases for both new features and regression testing.
• Participate in design and implementation reviews to provide input on potential issues.
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover hidden defects and ensure a robust product.
• Automate test cases using testing frameworks and tools.
• Maintain and update automated test scripts as necessary.
• Execute automated test suites to improve test efficiency and coverage.
• Continuously monitor the quality of our applications and participate in the release process.
• Collaborate with developers to isolate and reproduce defects for faster resolution.
• Maintain and document testing processes and procedures for reference.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in quality assurance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a QA Engineer, with a strong emphasis on manual testing.
• Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
• Proficiency in writing and executing test cases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
• Experience with mobile and web application testing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
• Experience with testing APIs is a plus.

Functional: Manual Functional Testing of Web and Mobile Applications, Writing Test Cases, Regression Testing, Data Verification, GIT & JIRA, Basic Automation Testing,
Testing feeds - Understanding of JSON and XML structures, Testing tools like Postman, Swagger & Charles Proxy, Browser Development Tools,GIT & JIRA.

Position description: 2+ years of hands on experience in testing.

Primary Responsibilities:

• To work closely with software developers and product planners to understand more about what the product is for, its key features and the intended audience
• Required to carry out a mix of key functional and non-functional tests such as Sanity, Regression, Load, Security and Deployment
• Required to plan test cases in consultation with the stake holders
• Required to document all bugs and findings of these tests and ensuring they are addressed

• Develop detailed test strategy and test plans for various features at the functional and system level.
• Be a gatekeeper for the quality of any product going out in the market from Rapido including customer experiences.
• Integral members of SDLC right from product requirements gathering phase to design reviews till the delivery of the product.
• Maintain a staging environment to effectively verify and validate the products.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage by preparing a detailed capability matrix to map features to the functional requirements of the test plan and for defining the acceptance criteria.
• Effectively develop an automation to improve efficiency/productivity.
• Expertise in developing automation framework for mobile apps, web UI, APIs using appropriate open source tools like Appium, Selenium, SOAP UI, Rest Assured etc.
• Fluent with OOPS concepts and any one programming language like Java, Python etc.
• Cover all dimensions of Rapido’s product which includes features/functionality, scale/load, usability, and performance.
• Hands on experience in CI/CD driven test processes is an added benefit.
• Analyze defects to assess the severity and prioritize them for development to fix.
• Work with software developers to tune code and track all problem reports to closure. Analyze test results to ensure functionality and recommend appropriate action.

• Play an active role in QA activities during all phases of our product development from requirements elaboration, design/development, test and deployment
• Responsible for manual and automated testing activities for a multi-tier web-based platform. This includes writing test cases based on business requirements, test data creation, creating and maintaining automated scripts to test front-end, APIs and database changes
• Creating and maintaining all QA related documentation throughout the process
• Execution of the test phase consistent with the overall project schedules
• Direct interaction/facilitation of bug resolution with engineering teams
• Work effectively within a dynamic team environment following standards and best practices and ensure the highest level of quality
• Ability to understand the technical architecture, its implementation, design patterns, data representations and infrastructure powering these systems.
• Work closely with software devs and solution architects to understand the tech stack, design and accordingly build the test frameworks, setup infra and build execution models to drive the end-to-end quality efforts of backend systems/services and client apps
• Debug test failures, read through logs, network calls and make preliminary root cause analysis of defect/bug
• Develop test plans, test cases, test design documents with good coverage and optimised testing approach

Candidate requirements

Must have

• At least 2-4 years of experience in manual and automated quality assurance
• Experience on automation tools like TestNG, Selenium (Grid, parallel, SauceLabs), Mocha_Chai frontend or backend test automation
• Good understanding of REST APIs and a solid experience in testing them
• Tools like Jira, Asana or similar bug tracking tool, Confluence - Wiki, Jenkins - CI tool
• Knowledge of different browsers and cross-platform operating systems
• Keen eye for design and functional UX
• Strong in writing SQL queries
• Proficiency in git
• Ability to develop or maintain applications for test automation
• Excellent written and oral communication and organisational skills with the ability to work within a growing company with increasing needs
• Proven track record of ability to handle time-critical projects

Good to have

• Experience in working in a distributed micro-service environment
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript or any other programming language
• Hands-on experience in testing frameworks like Pytest or testing platforms like BrowserStack
• Built APIs at some point and practical knowledge on working with them
• Good understanding of CI/CD
• Ability to independently manage test environment deployments and handle issues around it
• Performed load testing of API endpoints
• Should have built an API test automation framework from scratch and maintained it

• 3+ years demonstrated experience in the Testing Web & mobile applications.
• 1+ Years of experience in Js based Web application testing. (Like: Angular Js, Vue Js, react js)
• Create and maintain API-based automation test scripts using tools like J meter, SoapUI or Postman
• API Automation using Soap UI/Rest assured / Postman (Mandatory)
• Create and maintain API specific test plans
• Conducting Performance and Load tests on the API's and provide detailed report and analysis on metrics like Breakage point etc.
• Participate in creating and clarifying User Stories, and in planning Sprints.
• Maintaining all the testing artefacts in SharePoint.
• Updating test management tools (JIRA / Bugzilla etc) so that the current status of the project can be known at any time by stakeholders.
