What will I be working on? The S340 is a connected electric vehicle. On road it needs to perform just like any other petrol vehicles, in fact, perform better and has to be even more reliable. Which means irrespective of the terrain or environmental condition, our users should have an uncompromised ride experience. Reason why, what and how you do is a critical role at Ather. As part of the Electrical Integration Team, you will be responsible for design and 3D modelling of various enclosures and test support fixtures for various automotive sub-systems. You will also be: Responsible for conceptualization and design of enclosures for electronic components to be deployed in the vehicle. Working with all design and hardware teams to better understand spatial requirements, technical constraints and convert the concepts into viable 3D models. And if required, design test fixtures along with other team members to support safe, functional test rigs. What kind of experience & skills do I need for this role? Should be proficient in 3D modelling software tools, more specifically Solidworks (min. 1 years experience), and basic tools like Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD is a plus. Previous experience in designing enclosures in both plastics and metal (casting) is a preferred. What will I be working on ? The S340 is a great concoction of multiple high-speed processors, memories, power system, and multiple communication systems (including wireless). Seamless integration of these designs into the overall product immaculately is a task that several engineers are on, and we’re looking for a team lead to guide them in this journey. Handhold the designs from requirement, to prototype and onto the final production ready system - that’s what’s on your plate in this role. Add to that, collaboration with the product team and other cross functional teams to bring the product to life. Coordinating these project activities such that they are delivered as per commitments. Developing schematics, supporting PCB designers on PCB layout design. Board bring up. Functional testing, debugging and root causing of issues. Supporting the development cycle including writing requirements, standards, manuals, test procedures and test reports. Support other cross functional teams during application testing and debug. What kind of experience & skills do I need for this role? You’re probably leading a team of 5 to 10 people in your career of 5+ years. Conversations on microprocessors, microcontrollers, wireless semiconductors, regulators, standard digital logic ICs, and discrete semiconductors seem comfortable. Multimeters, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Network analyzer and power supplies seem like your ideal playing kits. Your experience has given you exposure to circuit design, printed circuit schematic development for multilayer High speed digital PCBs and troubleshooting / root cause techniques for electronic assemblies. What will I be doing at Ather? You will be working on the power pack of the S340, the lithium-ion pack battery pack. Designed from scratch and with a capacity of 40 Ah, the pack has been designed to offer an uncompromised output for upto 50,000 kms and is IP 67 rated. You will help the battery pack achieve these results consistently. And obviously make it better. Apart from that you will Generate design concepts to ensure that the battery meets its functional requirements Create and mature digital designs of the overall pack and individual components, iterating through simulations or prototypes Design and evaluate various thermal management solutions Provide relevant inputs to FMEA and design verification test plan Work on testing requirements for projects What kind of experience do I need for this role? 0-5 years experience in product design Good understanding of design for assembly Thorough understanding of heat transfer and various thermal management solutions Basic knowledge of Li-ion cells What should I have graduated in?
