Role Overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant based in India to support US-based accounting and financial reporting. This role will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and US GAAP financial reporting within NetSuite. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building and improving accounting processes in a fast-paced, scaling environment. 

This is a high-ownership role requiring strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with US stakeholders across time zones.

Role Responsibilities: 

US GAAP Accounting & Close 

• Own and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for US entities 
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, amortizations, and reconciliations 
• Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with US GAAP 
• Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules 
• Support NetSuite enhancements, integrations, and process automation 
• Partner with US finance team on system improvements and reporting needs 

Financial Reporting & Compliance 

• Assist in preparation of US financial statements and management reporting 
• Support external audits and internal reviews (Big 4 or national firm exposure preferred) 
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

Process Building & Optimization 

• Build, document, and improve accounting processes and SOPs 
• Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions as the business grows 
• Support process standardization across entities and functions 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Partner with FP&A, Payroll, AP/AR, and Operations teams 
• Communicate clearly with US-based stakeholders across time zones 
• Proactively flag risks, issues, and improvement opportunities 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience 
• Strong hands-on experience with US GAAP reporting 
• NetSuite experience required (end-to-end accounting ownership) 
• Experience supporting US-based companies or multinational organizations 
• Proven experience building or improving accounting processes 
• Prior experience in a startup, high-growth, or scaling environment preferred 
• Audit experience (Big 4 or mid-tier) is a plus 
• CPA / CA (or progress toward certification) preferred

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant based in India to own India accounting operations, statutory compliance, and local financial reporting. This role will be responsible for end-to-end accounting for India entities, ensuring compliance with all Indian laws and regulatory filings, coordinating with external vendors (payroll, tax, auditors), and maintaining accurate books in NetSuite.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a scaling, multinational environment with both local autonomy and global collaboration.

Role Responsibilities:

India Accounting & Close

● Own day-to-day accounting and monthly close for India entities

● Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations

● Ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions in NetSuite

● Maintain India statutory books and schedules

Statutory Compliance & Filings (India)

● Ensure compliance with all applicable Indian laws and regulations, including:

● Companies Act filings

● GST, TDS, and other indirect/direct tax filings

● PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and labor law compliances

● Review and validate filings prepared by external consultants before submission

● Maintain statutory registers and compliance calendars

● Lead coordination for India statutory audits and tax audits

Payroll & Vendor Coordination

● Coordinate with external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing

● Review payroll reports, statutory deductions, and filings

● Act as primary finance point of contact for payroll, tax advisors, and consultants

NetSuite & Process

● Own accounting operations within NetSuite for India entities

● Ensure correct tax setup, chart of accounts, and statutory reporting structures

● Support system improvements, automation, and process standardization

● Build, document, and improve India-specific accounting and compliance processes

● Develop SOPs to support scale and ensure audit readiness

● Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement

Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration

● Work closely with HR, Operations, and US/Global Finance teams

● Support consolidation and global reporting needs

● Ensure timely communication across time zones

Qualifications & Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 5–8+ years of relevant accounting experience in India

• Strong working knowledge of Indian statutory requirements and filings

• Hands-on experience coordinating:

o GST, TDS, PF, ESI, PT, and Companies Act compliance

· India statutory audits and tax audits

• NetSuite experience required

• Experience working with multinational or US-based companies preferred

• Prior experience in a startup, high-growth, or PE/VC-backed environment is a plus

• CA (Chartered Accountant) / CPA preferred

• SuiteScript design and development on Oracle NetSuite ERP platform
• Proficiency in SuiteScript Version 2.0 with hands-on experience in a variety of script types such as Client Scripts, User Event Scripts, Suitelets, Restless, Scheduled Scripts, Map Reduce Scripts
• Should be able to handle SuiteScript Version 1.0 script enhancements and migration to SuiteScript 2.0

Responsibilities:

• Participate and lead Business Requirements gathering, documentation of BRD and overall Solution design.
• Implementation of designed system in NetSuite and support to project team.
• Ensure the best practices implementation based on Industry standard.
• Need to be involved on Reviews, check feasibility of solution and functional fitment as per NetSuite and align customer expectations and NetSuite capabilities to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Prepare test cases of modules implemented, validate the deliverables before Client testing and UAT.

• Good knowledge of all NetSuite Modules with strong understanding of functional processes
• NetSuite Foundation / ERP Consultant certification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in translating customer business requirements into workable business solutions, preferably on SaaS.
