We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing team of Data Science experts and manage the processes and people responsible for accurate data collection, processing, modelling, analysis, implementation, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Understand, monitor and maintain existing financial scorecards (ML Based) and make changes to the model when required.
• Perform Statistical analysis in R and assist IT team with deployment of ML model and analytical frameworks in Python.
• Should be able to handle multiple tasks and must know how to prioritize the work.
• Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modelling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
• Develop clear, concise and actionable solutions and recommendations for client’s business needs and actively explore client’s business and formulate solutions/ideas which can help client in terms of efficient cost cutting or in achieving growth/revenue/profitability targets faster.
• Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics support that support key business decisions.
• Design and build technical processes to address business issues.
• Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyse business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
• Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining, and engineering as well as modelling, visualization, and communication deliverables.
• Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to the Management of the company.

Requirements

• Industry knowledge
• 4 years or more of experience in financial services industry particularly retail credit industry is a must.
• Candidate should have either worked in banking sector (banks/ HFC/ NBFC) or consulting organizations serving these clients.
• Experience in credit risk model building such as application scorecards, behaviour scorecards, and/ or collection scorecards.
• Experience in portfolio monitoring, model monitoring, model calibration
• Knowledge of ECL/ Basel preferred.
• Educational qualification: Advanced degree in finance, mathematics, econometrics, or engineering.
• Technical knowledge: Strong data handling skills in databases such as SQL and Hadoop. Knowledge with data visualization tools, such as SAS VI/Tableau/PowerBI is preferred.
• Expertise in either R or Python; SAS knowledge will be plus.

Job Requirements:

Role Objective: To lead and direct the company's pre-contract and post-contract commercial functions, ensuring the preparation of accurate, competitive project tenders and the diligent management of all contractual obligations. This role is fundamentally accountable for securing profitable projects and mitigating commercial and contractual risk across all operations of Alumayer India Private Limited.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Estimation & Tendering Management:

Lead the preparation and submission of all project tenders, ensuring bids are both competitive and commercially viable.

Oversee the detailed analysis of project drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) to perform accurate cost estimations for materials, labor, and overheads.

Direct the value engineering process to provide cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or design intent.

Maintain and develop a robust database of costing information, supplier rates, and productivity norms.

Contracts Administration & Governance:

Serve as the primary authority for the review, negotiation, and finalization of all client and subcontractor contract documents, identifying and mitigating potential risks.

Manage the complete contract lifecycle, including the administration of variations, extensions of time, and the preparation and negotiation of claims.

Ensure all project activities and correspondence are in strict compliance with the established contractual terms and conditions.

Provide expert contractual advice and guidance to the project execution teams throughout the project duration.

Commercial Leadership & Reporting:

Manage, mentor, and develop the estimation and contracts team, establishing departmental objectives and performance metrics.

Prepare and present detailed commercial reports, cash flow projections, and risk analysis summaries to senior management.

Mandatory Candidate Profile:

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying is mandatory. A postgraduate qualification in Construction Management or Contract Law is highly advantageous.

Experience: A minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in estimation and contracts management, with significant exposure to the façade, glazing, or specialized construction industry.

Knowledge & Skills: In-depth knowledge of standard construction contract forms (e.g., FIDIC), tendering processes, and costing principles is essential. The candidate must possess exceptional negotiation, analytical, and risk management skills.

Reporting Structure:

The position reports to the Commercial Director or the Chief Operating Officer.

Review Criteria:

• Strong Dremio / Lakehouse Data Architect profile
• 5+ years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Engineering, with minimum 3+ years hands-on in Dremio
• Strong expertise in SQL optimization, data modeling, query performance tuning, and designing analytical schemas for large-scale systems
• Deep experience with cloud object storage (S3 / ADLS / GCS) and file formats such as Parquet, Delta, Iceberg along with distributed query planning concepts
• Hands-on experience integrating data via APIs, JDBC, Delta/Parquet, object storage, and coordinating with data engineering pipelines (Airflow, DBT, Kafka, Spark, etc.)
• Proven experience designing and implementing lakehouse architecture including ingestion, curation, semantic modeling, reflections/caching optimization, and enabling governed analytics
• Strong understanding of data governance, lineage, RBAC-based access control, and enterprise security best practices
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work closely with BI, data science, and engineering teams; strong documentation discipline
• Candidates must come from enterprise data modernization, cloud-native, or analytics-driven companies

Preferred:

• Experience integrating Dremio with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) or data catalogs (Collibra, Alation, Purview); familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery environments

You will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing Dremio-based data lakehouse environments integrated with cloud storage, BI, and data engineering ecosystems. The role requires a strong balance of architecture design, data modeling, query optimization, and governance enablement in large-scale analytical environments.

• Design and implement Dremio lakehouse architecture on cloud (AWS/Azure/Snowflake/Databricks ecosystem).
• Define data ingestion, curation, and semantic modeling strategies to support analytics and AI workloads.
• Optimize Dremio reflections, caching, and query performance for diverse data consumption patterns.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate data sources via APIs, JDBC, Delta/Parquet, and object storage layers (S3/ADLS).
