Job Opening: Engineer / Sr. Engineer – Instrumentation & Control (I&C)

Location: Airoli, Navi Mumbai

Department: Engineering – E&I

Experience Required: 5–8 Years

Qualification: BE / B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering

Water & Wastewater Treatment, Desalination, O&M, Recycle & Reuse, Sludge Treatment, and Sustainability Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Detailed study of tender documents and preparation of specifications & datasheets for PLC, instruments, cables, JB, trays, etc.
• Review of P&IDs
• Preparation of Instrument Index, I/O List, Hook-up Drawings, BOQ
• Design calculations including UPS sizing
• PLC system architecture, interconnection diagrams, wiring schemes
• Instrument cable tray/rack layouts and electronic earthing layouts
• Preparation of cable schedules, termination schedules
• Technical evaluation of vendor offers (PLC, instruments, VFDs, control valves, cables, JB, trays)
• Vendor drawing review and participation in FAT
• Interaction with clients and vendors for technical queries
• Support site teams during installation and commissioning
• Handle multiple EPC projects with minimal supervision

Key Skills Required:

• I&C Design for Water / Wastewater / STP / ETP plants
• Instrument selection (Flow, Pressure, Level, Temperature, Analytical)
• PLC systems & third-party communication
• Control room & equipment layout
• Knowledge of ISA standards
• Technical bid evaluation & procurement support
• AutoCAD (working knowledge)
• MS Office (Excel, Word)

Additional Desirable Skills:

• SPI knowledge
• Boolean Logic understanding

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings, models, and designs using AutoCAD.

• Prepare Basic Engineering Documents such as PFD (Process Flow Diagrams), P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and HFD (Hook-Up Flow Diagrams).

• Design and draft detailed layouts, including: Equipment Layouts Civil General Arrangements (GA) Piping Layouts & Isometrics Electrical Layouts Piping Bill of Quantities (BOQ)

• Collaborate closely with design and development teams, project engineers, and proposal engineers across various projects.

• Convert conceptual designs into detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings.

• Incorporate revisions, modifications, and changes into existing drawings as per updates and site feedback.

• Attend client kick-off meetings and conduct site visits for surveying and civil inspection.

• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and company guidelines.

• Maintain and organize a comprehensive library of project drawings and documentation.

• Familiarity with various STP technologies like MBBR, SBR, ASP, and MBR.

• Manage multiple drafting assignments in a time-bound manner with minimal supervision.  

Required Skills & Tools:

• Proficient in AutoCAD with strong skills in both 2D and 3D drafting.

• Working knowledge of related tools such as: Revit SketchUp Adobe Creative Suite

• Good understanding of engineering and architectural standards.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring dimensional and specification correctness.

• Strong project management and organizational skills.
