You will be working on complex data migrations, modernizing legacy applications and building new applications on the cloud for large enterprise and/or growth stage startups. You will have the opportunity to contribute directly into mission critical projects directly interacting with business stakeholders, customer’s technical teams and MongoDB solutions Architects.

Location - Bangalore

Basic qualifications:

• Good problem solving skills
• Deep understanding of software development life cycle

• Relevant experience of 4+ years building high-performance backend applications with, at least 2 or more projects implemented using the required technologies

Required Technical Skills:

• Extensive hands-on experience building high-performance web back-ends using Node.Js. Having 3+ hands-on experience in Node.JS and Javascript/Typescript and minimum
• Hands-on project experience with Nest.Js
• Strong experience with Express.Js framework
• Hands-on experience in data modeling and schema design in MongoDB 
• Experience integrating with any 3rd party services such as cloud SDKs, payments, push notifications, authentication etc…
• Exposure into unit testing with frameworks such as Mocha, Chai, Jest or others
• Strong experience writing and maintaining clear documentation

Good to have skills:

• Experience working with common services in any of the major cloud providers - AWS or GCP or Azure
• Experience with microservice architecture
• Experience working with other Relational and NoSQL Databases
• Experience with technologies such as Kafka and Redis
• Technical certifications in AWS / Azure / GCP / MongoDB or other relevant technologies

💥 What will you do?

As a Backend Engineer, you will

• Create and maintain server-side code
• Designing database schemas to support business requirements
• Building reusable code and libraries for future use
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Write unit tests
• Stay up to date with current best practices
• Collaborate with front end engineers
• Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
• Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with web-application-related technical issues and support their requirements.

While we do not have a strict list of requirements for candidates interested in this role, some indicators that you would fit this role and our engineering culture are 

• 2+ years of relevant work experience as a Backend engineer using Python frameworks like Django, Flask, etc
• Experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Good understanding of OOP concepts
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience writing unit tests for the application is a plus
• Experience with building REST APIs
• Superior analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Experience: 5+ Years

An  Architect  is a hands-on, talented, innovative, and practical individual with functional experience to design, implement and support the delivery of core products and product components.  

• Capable of working under minimal direction and exercising considerable latitude, they will provide technical expertise in developing solutions to complex software engineering problems, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity.
• Experienced in designing application framework solutions, performing architectural analysis, and identifying issues and provide solutions for the business problems.
• Sound functional knowledge of application architecture service architecture, code modularity, data synchronisation, customisable workflow management, partner application integration and API developer frameworks.
• Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and development of new architecture and major functional upgrades for the most advanced capabilities 
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, designers, and developers.
• Engage cross-organizational teams such as Product Management, Integrations, Services, Support, and Operations, to ensure the success of overall software development, implementation, and deployment.
• Requirements:

Ideal candidate should have

• 7+ years of system implementation experience 
• Experience with any of the following languages like Java / Nodejs / ROR / Python
• Expertise in micro service / Data modelling / AWS / Messaging
• Expertise in building scalable & reliable systems
• Good Experience in working with technologies like AWS, Redis,
• Experience in messaging systems like SQS/RabbitMQ
• Good knowledge of caching, Databases, distributed systems.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Good experience with Devops

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for Backend Developer who can move fast, are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and have a strong will to get things done.

Experience & skills required:

• Bachelor’s Or Master’s in computer science
• 1-3 years proven work experience, or demonstrated ability
• Significant experience in building secure, scalable RESTful APIs in NodeJs
• Understanding of Web services
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills for all layers of a web application.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Experience with multiple technology stacks on web and mobile
• Experience in different types of integrations like POS, PMS, Payment gateway, SMS gateway is a plus.

• As a Senior Software Engineer you will work closely with the Tech Lead, and the rest of the engineering team to build and scale a data-driven platform. This role will act as a great springboard to accelerate career growth & transition into a Tech Lead level role.
• Your primary focus will be the development of server-side logic, building new services and APIs, developing UI components, supporting the maintenance of current APIs, reviewing work, and improving the performance and reliability of our systems as we rapidly scale our product and organization.
• An effective Senior Software Engineer will be a self-motivated learner; a highly creative engineer having obsessive attention towards detail and thoroughness.

Must Haves

• You’ve been building web applications professionally for 5+ years
• You’re proficient in NodeJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
• You possess strong OOP and design pattern knowledge
• Familiar with modern engineering practices: Code Reviews, Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing, etc
• You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability and experienced with TDD (Test Driven Development)
• You’ve the ability to build RESTful APIs
• Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support team, and fellow engineers is not a problem for you
• Well versed with the fundamentals of computer science and distributed systems

Nice-to-haves

• FrontEnd experience; have built applications in either: React, Vue, Angular, or Svelte
• Startup experience, preferably a tech startup
• Open Source contributor
• You have experience with other programming languages -- e.g. Python, Ruby, PHP, Go, C, etc.
• Passionate about/experienced with open source and developer tools
• You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience
