Job Title: Product Owner – Payments & Funds Transfer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and driven Product Owner with proven experience in business and systems analysis within the Payments and Funds Transfer domain. The ideal candidate will possess deep domain knowledge of SWIFT, Clearings, RTGS, and familiarity with SEPA, CHIPS, and Fedwire. You will serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to define, prioritize, and deliver impactful product features in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary point of contact for product features and roadmap in the Payments domain.
• Gather, analyze, and translate business and system requirements into detailed user stories and product backlogs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, business analysts, and stakeholders.
• Own and manage the product backlog; prioritize features based on business value and technical feasibility.
• Conduct gap analysis, define workflows, and ensure business rules and compliance requirements are captured.
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Provide subject matter expertise in payment systems, clearing mechanisms, and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Business/System Analyst in the Payments/Funds Transfer domain.
• Strong understanding of SWIFT, RTGS, and Clearing Systems.
• Working knowledge of SEPA, CHIPS, Fedwire is a plus.
• Proven experience translating business needs into functional and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and tools like Jira, Confluence, etc.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business, or related field.

• Experience:
• 7+ years of experience in ETL development using IBM DataStage.
• Hands-on experience with designing, developing, and maintaining ETL jobs for data warehousing or business intelligence solutions.
• Experience with data integration across relational databases (e.g., IBM DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server), flat files, and other data sources.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency in IBM DataStage (Designer, Director, Administrator, and Manager components).
• Expertise in SQL and database programming (e.g., PL/SQL, T-SQL).
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., UNIX shell scripting) for automation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, BitBucket, Artifactory) and Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with IBM Watsonx.data integration or other ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend) is a plus.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop) is an advantage.

Payments is an interesting engineering challenge in itself with requirements of low latency, transactional guarantees, security, and high scalability. When we add credit and engagement into the mix, the challenge becomes even more interesting with underwriting and recommendation algorithms working on large data sets. We have eliminated the current call center, sales agent, and SMS-based processes with a mobile app that puts the customers in complete control. Purpose of Role :

- Develop and implement the collection analytics and strategy function for the credit cards. Use analysis and customer insights to develop optimum strategy.

CANDIDATE PROFILE :

- Successful candidates will have in-depth knowledge of statistical modelling/data analysis tools (Python, R etc.), techniques. They will be an adept communicator with good interpersonal skills to work with senior stake holders in India to grow revenue primarily through identifying / delivering / creating new, profitable analytics solutions.

- Proven track record in collection and risk analytics preferably in Indian BFSI industry. This is a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications :

Knowledge :

- Good understanding of collection analytics preferably in Retail lending industry.

- Knowledge of statistical modelling/data analysis tools (Python, R etc.), techniques and market trends

- Knowledge of different modelling frameworks like Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Multiple Regression, LOGIT, PROBIT, time- series modelling, CHAID, CART etc.

- Knowledge of Machine learning & AI algorithms such as Gradient Boost, KNN, etc.

- Understanding of decisioning and portfolio management in banking and financial services would be added advantage

- Understanding of credit bureau would be an added advantage

Experience :

- 4 to 8 years of work experience in core analytics function of a large bank / consulting firm.

- Experience on working on Collection analytics is must

- Experience on handling large data volumes using data analysis tools and generating good data insights

- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and analysis results effectively both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences
