Job Description

We are looking for an experienced GCP Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate should have expertise in GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Cloud Run, Cloud Loadbalancer, Cloud function, Azure DevOps, and Terraform, with a strong focus on automation, security, and scalability.

You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure robust cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines while optimizing performance and cost.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management

· Architect, deploy, and maintain GCP cloud resources via terraform/other automation.

· Implement Google Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, file store, for data storage and processing needs.

· Manage and configure Cloud Load Balancers (HTTP(S), TCP/UDP, and SSL Proxy) for high availability and scalability.

· Optimize resource allocation, monitoring, and cost efficiency across GCP environments.

2. Kubernetes & Container Orchestration

· Deploy, manage, and optimize workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

· Work with Helm charts, Istio, and service meshes for microservices deployments.

· Automate scaling, rolling updates, and zero-downtime deployments.

3. Serverless & Compute Services

· Deploy and manage applications on Cloud Run and Cloud Functions for scalable, serverless workloads.

· Optimize containerized applications running on Cloud Run for cost efficiency and performance.

4. CI/CD & DevOps Automation

· Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

· Automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform, Bash and Power shell scripting

· Integrate security and compliance checks into the DevOps workflow (DevSecOps).

Role Overview

The Data / Business Analyst plays a key role in Customer’s Data Hub initiative, supporting the delivery of standardized, trusted, and compliant regulatory data across the organization. This role act as the bridge between business requirements, data governance, and technical implementation ensuring that data pipelines, models, and mappings are accurate, validated, and ready for business use.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with source system owners and regulatory stakeholders to gather and refine data pipeline requirements.

Translate data pipeline requirements into epics and stories ready for refinement in Jira.

Lead backlog refinement sessions with data architects, domain leads, and scientists to prioritize data ingestion and transformation activities.

Define story structure to comprise the requirements of the work to be done and the definition of done and the different types of tasks relevant for the domain to accomplish with their associated roles, documented in a Confluence page.

Endorse the role of agile scrum master for the RDH team: coach team members in self-management, organize high-value increments in sprints meeting the definition of done

Identify and document potential data issues including quality, normalization, duplication, completeness, or governance gaps and share findings with the Data Domain and platform Lead.

Work closely with Data Architects to define and document the data transformation pipeline architecture.

Support the Data Architect in defining and maintaining the data models used across regulatory use cases by reviewing proposed changes and evaluate their relevance towards new requirements.

Support the review phase led by the Data Domain Lead, verifying that the regulatory and business context is preserved across transformed datasets.

Validate that all data mappings and transformations meet regulatory compliance, data quality, and analytical readiness standards.

Collaborate with Data Scientists to define mapping logic for regulatory entities such as substances, studies, and documents.

Review the design of quality control pipelines, ensuring mapping accuracy and alignment with analytical expectations.

1. Your technology ingredients?

Programming languages:
Our backend is written in Python using Django framework. And the frontend is in AngularJS. Currently there is no mobile app.

Infrastructure:
We are an AWS shop and use their services for most needs, Docker for containerization and ECS as orchestrator, RDS as database, S3 for storage and SQS as messaging backend.

Other tools:
BitBucket for Git and CI/CD pipeline, Trello for project management; and Google Meets and Slack for communication.

2. Your hiring plan?

Currently the engineering team comprises of 3 engineers, and we plan to grow it to 8 by the end of 2021.

3. Your Interview process?

We will try to finish the process within two weeks. In case we can’t go ahead with  your candidature, we will clearly and immediately let you know. But in case of competing applications, we may request you to wait for a week or two.
