The Opportunity

We're seeking a proactive and skilled Platform Engineer to enhance the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform. This role offers the chance to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, integrate new technologies, and advance our DevOps and SRE practices. Responsibilities

• Promote best practices and standards across engineering teams to ensure platform reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering to enhance platform scalability and align with business goals.
• Develop and optimize backend systems and infrastructure to support platform growth.
• Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and alerting systems.
• Document system performance, incidents, and resolutions, producing detailed technical reports.
• Formulate backend architecture plans and provide guidance on deployment strategies and reliability improvements.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 platform reliability and rapid incident response.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Platform or Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or similar roles.
• Strong backend development experience using Python, JavaScript/Typescript.
• Solid understanding of API design and implementation.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI.
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, Prometheus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on long-term solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Devops Engineer(Permanent)

Experience: 8 to 12 yrs

Location: Remote for 2-3 months (Any Mastek Location- Chennai/Mumbai/Pune/Noida/Gurgaon/Ahmedabad/Bangalore)

Max Salary = 28 LPA (including 10% variable)

Notice Period: Immediate/ max 10days

Mandatory Skills: Either Splunk/Datadog, Gitlab, Retail Domain

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, or in a related technical field or equivalent technology experience.

· 10+ years’ experience in software development

· 8+ years of experience in DevOps

· Mandatory Skills: Either Splunk/Datadog,Gitalb,EKS,Retail domain experience

· Experience with the following Cloud Native tools: Git, Jenkins, Grafana, Prometheus, Ansible, Artifactory, Vault, Splunk, Consul, Terraform, Kubernetes

· Working knowledge of Containers, i.e., Docker Kubernetes, ideally with experience transitioning an organization through its adoption

· Experience managing and deploying Infrastructure as Code, using tools like Terraform Helm charts etc.

· Manage and maintain standards for Devops tools used by the team

1. Work across the entire landscape that spans network, compute, storage, databases, applications, and business domain
2. Use the Big Data and AI-driven features of vuSmartMaps to provide solutions that will enable customers to improve the end-user experience for their applications
3. Create detailed designs, solutions and validate with internal engineering and customer teams, and establish a good network of relationships with customers and experts
4. Understand the application architecture and transaction-level workflow to identify touchpoints and metrics to be monitored and analyzed
5. Analytics and analysis of data and provide insights and recommendations
6. Constantly stay ahead in communicating with customers. Manage planning and execution of platform implementation at customer sites.
7. Work with the product team in developing new features, identifying solution gaps, etc.​
8. Interest and aptitude in learning new technologies - Big Data, no SQL databases, Elastic Search, Mongo DB, DevOps.​

1. At least 2+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure Management
2. Experience in working with large-scale IT infra, including applications, databases, and networks.​
3. Experience in working with monitoring tools, automation tools
4. Hands-on experience in Linux and scripting.
5. Knowledge/Experience in the following technologies will be an added plus:​ ​ElasticSearch, Kafka, Docker Containers, MongoDB, Big Data, SQL databases, ELK stack, REST APIs, web services, and JMX.

• Professional experience in enterprise java software development using Spring MVC framework , RESTful  APIs and SOA
