Java Support Engineer

Job description

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust backend services using Node.js.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to support front-end applications and third-party integrations
• Manage and optimize SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake)
• Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration and data flow
• Implement caching, logging, and monitoring strategies for performance and reliability
• Ensure application security, scalability, and maintainability
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile ceremonies

✅ Required Skills:

• Proficiency in backend programming languages (Node.js, Java, .NET Core)
• Experience with API development and tools like Postman, Swagger
• Strong understanding of database design and query optimization
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.

Job Responsibilities:

* Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code

* Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications

* Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems

* Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

* Prepare the technical design of complex technology components

Mandatory Skills:

* Proficient in Java (JDK 1.7) or above JDK 8 preferable, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems with a knack for writing clean, readable Java code, writing reusable Java libraries along with knowledge of concurrency patterns in Java

* Solid understanding of object-oriented programming along with various design and architectural patterns

* Hands on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit

* Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Microservices, RESTful

Responsibilities:

• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
• Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members. Taking lead on projects, as needed.

Requirements:

• Overall experience of 2-5 years in building backend services using languages like NodeJs, Java etc
• Fluency or understanding of specific languages, such as Java, Node.Js, Python, and operating systems may be required.
• Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools.
• Focus on efficiency, user experience, and process improvement.
• Strong problem solving and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or with a group.

Job Responsibilities
Participate in detailed level in design, coding, code walk through, peer code reviews and unit testing,  System Testing, UAT, Demos, POCs, installation, maintenance of Software modules. 

❑ Ensures the preparation of the following: 

▪ Software prototype 

▪ System Architecture 

▪ Software Design Document 

▪ User interfaces to be developed as per UX guidelines 

▪ Code files ensuring coding guidelines followed 

▪ Code review artefacts during peer code review 

▪ Test plan and Test Cases 

▪ Installation / Deployment document 

▪ Release Document 

▪ Technical Documentation 

❑ Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentations, flowcharts, layouts, diagram, charts,  code. comments and clear code; Ensuring that project task are completed in defined effort and timelines ❑ Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards & programming. 

❑ Testing: Writing of test cases, unit testing, system testing, negative testing 

❑ Trouble shooting: Log analysis and database query optimization  

❑ Improves operations by conducting system's analysis. 

❑ Updates job knowledge by studying state of the art development tools, programming techniques & computing equipment; participates in educational opportunities, reads professional publications & maintains  personal networks.  

❑ Protects operations by keeping information confidential. 

❑ Provides information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing development and service issues.  ❑ Develops software solution by studying information needs, conferring with users, studding system flow,  data usage and work processes, investigating problem areas, following delivery cycle.

• Assist in technical specification and solution design documentation to address customer needs

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience in a software development/consulting role, preferably in comprehensive eBusiness and Supply Chain Solutions
• 2+ years experience in Software Analysis, Design, and Development using J2EE technology stacks (Core Java, JSP, XML, Hibernate & Java scripts) and Oracle database (PL/SQL)
• 2+ years experience with the configuration and Installation of J2EE servers like Web logic, Web Sphere, and Oracle
• 2+ years experience with integration technology (knowledge of EAI and B2B tools)
• 2+ years working knowledge of UNIX system (Solaris and Linux)
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
• Excellent interpersonal & planning skills and cross-group coordination at all levels
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
• Willing to travel when needed.

Preferred (Optional) Skills:

• Supply-chain domain experience implementing and integrating Global Trade Management solutions
• Experience in the integration, deployment or support of an ERP, SCM, or similar systems from SA
