Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design and support implementation of business specific Pega solutions and/or framework
- Responsible for implementing technical solutions on Pega 8.x
- Ability to create reusable components that can be leveraged across the enterprise for providing top-notch user experience
- Ability to translate complex business requirement into functional technical requirements using Pega Systems Smart BPM methodology and DCO tools
- Good hands on implementing PEGA integration services using REST, SOAP, Email etc. Good understanding of PEGA case management features
- Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
- Design reusable components, frameworks and libraries
- Ability to interact with business analysts and business team members to refine requirements, Use Cases
- Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing
- Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solutions
- Participate in an Agile / Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases
- Design and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
- Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance
- Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required
- Mentor and guide other software/Pega engineers within the team
- Experience with troubleshooting Production log files and performance issues
- Responsible for unit testing more complex individual and team deliverables based on established test plans
- Responsible for ensuring an efficient integration of programming deliverables timely builds and overall code quality
- Contributes to the delivery of new applications and to the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications with shared responsibility for the technical issues
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, or Information Systems or Engineering is required, else in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience is mandatory.
- Pega Systems Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA)
- 5+ Years of Experience on Pega PRPC (8.x/7.x versions) and Frame worked Case Management
- In-Depth knowledge of Pega Upgrades, Integration, Performance Management and all Pega relevant Tools
- Ability to negotiate and allocate resources appropriately for development and implementation
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills

Experience: 6- 12 years work-related experience in IT
Pega Experience: 6-8 years of experience working in Pega 6 or above developing software applications using business process management techniques and technologies, Minimum Four (4) years of experience maintaining software applications in an enterprise setting; Four (4) years experience in RDBM;,two (2) years of programming experience using Java, JSP, and JavaScript within Pega platform, and minimum Four (4) years experience working directly with Business Units to gather and refine business requirements and translate into functional/technical requirements. Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Lead Pega developer you will be involved in architecture, design, development and testing of Pega PRPC (Pega Rules Process Commander), Pega strategic applications, and related infrastructure. You will be in direct contact with project managers, system architects, on- and off-shore team members as well as other engineers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead the definition and implementation of technical strategy, standards, configurations, and ensure feasibility of IT solutions. Work on multiple applications for multiple business divisions.
- Define technical roadmap, ensuring solutions align with Anthem’s overall business and IT Strategy.
- Define Technical platform, including class structure, model, configurations, and integration elements. Submit Prototype of solution prior to full implementation. Use Prototype as proof of concept.
- Document technical architecture, platform, including configurations. Design and program automation opportunities using Pega BPM Software as well as other platforms and tools, as required.
- Prepare and utilize project plans for significant IT development, enhancement, and maintenance efforts. Coordinate technical tasks and activities related to the introduction of new services, products, and processes.
- Perform customer satisfaction reviews and maintain systems in the team's application portfolio. Drive consistency across applications and projects wherever possible. Identify and communicate risks to the business. Act as a liaison for the technical team to the project management team and IT management.
- Provide regular updates to internal IT Management on the execution of strategy. Provide continuous support to IT Customers throughout the application lifecycle.
- Ability to work in a technical lead role to coordinate a team of resources to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects. Works with functional managers to establish and maintain technical standards and guidelines for their area.
- Works with functional manager to review and evaluate new technologies that may be beneficial to current and upcoming project work. Participate in the technical design review process to ensure high-quality technical designs.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree required Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems OR equivalent external work experience.
- Plus a minimum of 10-12 years work-related experience required in information technology or a relevant Anthem IT position.
- Must have certification as a Pega CLSA (Certified Lead System Architect) and Pega CSSA (Certified Senior System Architect)
- Minimum Six (6) to eight (8) years work-related experience required in Pega 6 or above developing software applications using business process management techniques and technologies.
- Must have worked in at least 5 Pega implementations from ground up with different customers.
- Minimum Four (4) years of experience maintaining software applications in an enterprise setting; Four (4) years experience in RDBMS; Two (2) years of programming experience using Java, JSP, and JavaScript within Pega platform.
- Minimum Four (4) years experience working directly with Business Units to gather and refine business requirements and translate into functional/technical requirements. Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
