• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computational linguistics, translation, natural language processing, or a related field
. • A solid understanding of linguistics, natural language processing, machine translation, and translation management systems.
• Experience with machine translation providers (Systran, GCP, Azure, AWS), translation tools and translation management systems (Global Link).
• Familiarity with translation processes, localization practices, and translation project management is essential. Experience with translation memory tools, glossaries, and terminology management is also beneficial
Roles & Responsibilities
• Evaluate and use third-party machine translation providers based on performance, language coverage, cost, and other criteria. Leverage services from MT providers and manage their integration into the translation workflow.
• Configure and optimize machine translation systems within the TMS, ensuring smooth integration and optimal performance. Fine-tune the machine translation engines to align with specific project requirements and target languages.
• Monitor the machine translation performance and work on improving quality.
• Support customers with questions regarding the translation process within the TMS, including project creation, assignment of translation tasks to human translators or reviewers, and integration of machine translation suggestions into the workflow.
• Address any technical issues related to machine translation engines or the TMS, working closely with software engineers or technical support teams to resolve problems and ensure uninterrupted translation operations.
• Provide training and support to users of the TMS, educating them on best practices and providing guidance on how to optimize the translation process within the system.
• Maintaining clear and accurate documentation and best practices
. • Stay up to date with advancements in machine translation and translation management systems. Assess new technologies, tools, and approaches that can enhance translation quality, efficiency, and user experience
