Ideal Candidate

Strong Ontologist Profile with deep semantic (RDF) ontology experience in complex enterprise environments

Mandatory (Experience 1) – Must have 8+ years of total experience, with a minimum of 5 years in semantic (RDF) ontology building/structuring for a complex organization.

Mandatory (Experience 2) – Must have a demonstrated ability to design comprehensive, intuitive semantic ontologies within a large, complex environment.

Mandatory (Experience 3) – Must be able to relate requirements and findings to business needs and outcomes.

Mandatory (Tech skill 1) – Must be familiar with W3C industry standards, including SPARQL and OWL.

Preferred (Tech skill 2) – Knowledge of ontology/TOMS tools such as PoolParty (Semantic Web), TopQuadrant EDG, or GraphDB (Ontotext)

Mandatory (Communication) – Must be fluent in English, with the ability to work across a complex environment with many stakeholders.

Mandatory (Education) – Must have a degree in Computer Science or Library Science, preferably with a minor / concentration / certificate in Information Management or Library Automation.

Mandatory (Note) – Must be available to work during US time zones for at least 4 hours per day.

Preferred (Tech skill 1) – Experience with graph databases, taxonomies, and NLP strategies for optimization.

Roles and Responsibilities

• You will be building and shipping robust apps to Android/ iOS devices using a single codebase.

• Should be able to work on 24 X 7 shifts for support of infrastructure.
• Design, Deploy and maintain enterprise class security, network and systems management applications within an AWS environment
• Design and implement availability, scalability, and performance plans for the AWS managed service environment
• Continual re-evaluation of existing stack and infrastructure to maintain optimal performance, availability and security
• Manage the production deployment and deployment automation
• Implement process and quality improvements through task automation
• Institute infrastructure as code, security automation and automation or routine maintenance tasks
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like docker, Kubernetes
• Build, Deploy and Manage Kubernetes clusters thru automation
• Create and deliver knowledge sharing presentations and documentation for support teams
• Learning on the job and explore new technologies with little supervision
• Work effectively with onsite/offshore teams

Qualifications:

• Must have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 4+ years of experience in IT
• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining all AWS infrastructure and services
• Design and implement availability, scalability, and performance plans for the AWS managed service environment
• Continual re-evaluation of existing stack and infrastructure to maintain optimal performance, availability, and security
• Hands-on technical expertise in Security Architecture, automation, integration, and deployment
• Familiarity with compliance & security standards across the enterprise IT landscape
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes and AWS(IAM, Route53, SSM, S3, EFS, EBS, ELB, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SQS, SNS, RDS, Cloud Formation, DynamoDB)
• Solid understanding of AWS IAM Roles and Policies
• Solid Linux experience with a focus on web (Apache Tomcat/Nginx)
• Experience with automation/configuration management using Terraform\Chef\Ansible or similar.
• Understanding of protocols/technologies like Microservices, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, LDAP, JDBC, SQL, HTML
• Experience in managing and working with the offshore teams
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitLab CI
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash, etc.)
• AWS, Kubernetes Certification is preferred
• Ability to work with and influence Engineering teams

WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU'LL

• Complete Finly’s new-hire training week, and learn Accounts Payable
• Processes & the various partners we work with to make Finly happen.
• Investigate, solve and release a bug fix to production. In order to do this you will ramp up on Finly’s engineering stack by pair-programming with your teammates and attending engineering training sessions designed and presented by the team.
• Meet with cross-functional peers around the company to learn how the product functions.
• Complete your engineering starter project and deploy your first changes to production.

WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU'LL

• Individually contribute reliably ship full features to customers.
• Own major product areas and take features from mock to deploy.
• Estimate technical scope and time to complete major features and initiatives.

WITHIN 6 MONTHS, YOU'LL

• Move to new product vertical & initiative and start designing and architecting scalable systems as per the requirements discussed with Product Manager.
• Have made a visible impact on the product for all the users of Finly.
• Work closely with your team to remove roadblocks, educate on best practices and improve how we work.
• Be comfortable navigating most of our stack and infrastructure
• Be responsible for the planning, scoping, design, and implementation of new features

• Individually contribute and lead teams to reliably ship full features to customers.
• Estimate technical scope and time to complete major products and initiatives.
• Define tools and standards for product engineering to measure performance impact of releases
• Help grow other engineers technically by mentoring, pairing and developing other learning opportunities
• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to define priorities and set delivery goals.

So in this role, you will work with the respective team’s product manager and other engineers in that team. You may work on the front-end or backend or both based on the requirement of the project.
