Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Linux System Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is ideal for candidates with up to 2 years of hands-on experience in managing Linux-based systems. You will be responsible for maintaining system uptime, ensuring performance, and supporting day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, etc.)
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
• Perform system updates, patches, and regular maintenance.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripts or tools like Ansible.
• Set up and manage services such as Apache/Nginx, MySQL/PostgreSQL, FTP, DNS, etc.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Assist in backup and disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Maintain system documentation and logs.
• Support development and QA teams with server environments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in Linux system administration.
• Good understanding of Linux fundamentals (file systems, boot process, permissions).
• Hands-on experience with shell scripting (bash, etc.).
• Familiarity with web servers (Apache, Nginx) and database servers (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Basic knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
• Experience with virtualization/cloud (VMware, KVM, AWS, or similar) is a plus.
• Understanding of version control systems like Git.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• RHCSA or similar certification.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.).
• Exposure to container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Basic knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support for Nutanix environments, addressing hardware and software issues reported by internal or external users.

• Infrastructure Management: Administer, operate, and manage Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.

• Configuration and Deployment: Configure and deploy Nutanix hardware and software

• components, including setting up virtual machines and storage solutions.

• Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance, conduct regular maintenance,and perform troubleshooting to resolve issues proactively.

• Log Analysis and RCA: Analyze logs to identify issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent future occurrences.

• Documentation: Maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Typically requires 3-7 years of experience in system administration, specifically with Nutanix platforms.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Nutanix technologies, including Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) and Prism interface.

• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

• Knowledge of Linux operating systems is often essential.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to diagnose technical problems effectively.

• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Certifications:

• Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or similar certifications related to virtualization or cloud technologies.

Job Description:

1. Installing, Configuring, Managing, Monitoring and troubleshooting SQL Server 2005/2008/2008R2/2012/2014/2016
2. Database administration activities like Installation, Configuration, Backup & Recovery, and Database Security.
3. Providing availability solutions like Mirroring, Log Shipping, Replication and Always on.
4. Database Up gradation and Migration
5. Ensure performance monitoring, backup, restore, and security recovery solutions.
6. Troubleshooting expertise in SQL server issues under production environment.
7. Handling the entire production servers with skills and understanding client's requirement Experience in Database administration activities for DB Security (creating users, roles, and assigning permission to them).
8. Automating process by creating jobs, and error reporting using Alerts by SQL Server Agent.
9. Backup and Recovery strategy, Database Refreshes.
10. Creation and maintenance of Databases, creating Roles and managing user permissions.
11. Setting up, trouble shooting and maintenance of production server databases.
12. Providing Production support for Database and Applications.
13. SQL Server store procedure, functions, View, Index and trigger development.

 

Job requirement:

1. Deep understanding of OS and its management including kernel space management
2. Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments
3. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, Nginx, etc.
4. Experience in Monitoring tools like Nagios.
5. Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, etc.
6. Proficient with network tools such as iptables, Linux IPVS, HA Proxy, etc.
7. Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Xen KVM and VMware.
8. Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
