We are an early-stage SaaS startup building a monolith-first product with a pragmatic approach, evolving into microservices as we scale. Our stack spans Node.js/TypeScript (Express, Prisma), Python/Django (for async jobs), React/Next.js on the frontend, and PostgreSQL (AWS RDS or Supabase) as the core database. We are hosted on a production-grade AWS stack with staging and production environments in sync.

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Founding Engineer who can own the entire stack, backend, frontend, infra, and DevOps, while helping shape the product and engineering culture from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js/TypeScript (Express, Prisma) and Python/Django.
• Build responsive, user-centric frontend interfaces with React.js/Next.js.
• Design schemas, manage migrations, and optimize queries for PostgreSQL and other 
• Implement and maintain RESTful APIs, with exposure to GraphQL and real-time protocols like WebSockets.
• Own infrastructure setup on AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudFront) with staging/production parity.
• Implement SaaS fundamentals: auth, RBAC, billing (Stripe), multi-tenancy, and security best practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability.
• Troubleshoot and debug across the stack to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate directly with founders on product roadmap and technical decisions.
• Define engineering best practices and mentor future hires as the team scales.

Desired Profile

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
• Strong skills in Node.js/TypeScript (Express, Prisma) and Python/Django.
• Hands-on experience with React.js/Next.js for frontend development.
• Proficiency in relational databases (Postgres required; MySQL a plus).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, with exposure to GraphQL.
• Knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native deployment.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with state management in frontend apps (Redux, React Query, or Context API).
• Version control with Git and Agile development practices, relational databases.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Management

• Oversee and manage the procurement of raw materials and packaging materials for cosmetic production.
• Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with new and existing suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to maintain seamless production schedules.
• Conduct market research and attend trade fairs/exhibitions across India to source innovative products and stay updated on industry trends.

Production Coordination

• Collaborate with production teams to ensure availability of materials for efficient manufacturing.
• Develop and implement production schedules, optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and minimize waste.
• Coordinate with supply chain and logistics to ensure smooth material flow and inventory management.

Research and Development Support

• Work with the R&D team to identify and procure suitable raw materials for new product formulations.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in cosmetics and skincare to support innovation and development.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure that procured materials meet regulatory and company quality standards.
• Work closely with the quality control team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Budgeting and Cost Management

• Perform cost-benefit analyses to optimize spending and secure the best value.
• Conduct forecasting and variance analysis to align procurement with financial goals.
• Review and approve expenses related to procurement, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.

Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and supply chain, to meet organizational goals.
• Actively participate in team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in procurement in the cosmetics, beauty, or skincare industry.
• Strong knowledge of raw material and packaging material procurement.
• Proficiency in production scheduling, market research, and supplier negotiations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor and team collaboration.
• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards in cosmetics production is an advantage.

• Selling Platform-as-a-Service/Infrastructure-as-a-Service (PaaS/IaaS) and working toward strategic business goals in the technology industry.
• Excellent communication, presentation, strategic and research skills with the ability to plan, present and execute strategy.
• Lead business strategy in generating and developing business growth opportunities.
• Working collaboratively with customers in order to maximize business results in the area and open up opportunities with enterprise customers.
