As a member of the founding engineering team at Kombai, you'd work directly with the CTO and CEO to build a global product for the frontend dev teams from scratch. Together, we'd have a crack at several hard, high-impact problems - often involving challenges across product, engineering, and research areas.

Desired Qualifications & Skillset

For all positions of our early engineering team we are looking for people who:

• Are fully hands-on with latest JS development
• Are good frontend and web application architects
• Are quick and agile
• Have a good learning, problem solving and logical aptitude
• Have a mindset to commit for 3-4 years

In addition to the above, the candidates for Senior Product Engineer should also have:

• Thorough understanding of good Frontend engineering & architecture practices. In our experience, this usually comes from working in an excellent frontend team with an excellent architect, on a complex applications
• Experience: 3-6 years

Min 3 years of development experience of working on entire tech stack with the end to end responsibilities. Role 1. Own end to end responsibility - right from the requirement to release. 2. Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds. 3. Write & deploy auto-scaling applications. Skills Node.js, Express.js, JWT, Passport, and other useful node packages MySQL, Database Schema Design, MongoDB/RethinkDB with knowledge of data shading & clustering JavaScript ES6, JQuery, HTML/CSS3 with basic design sense of UI/UX, SASS, BootStrap, Cordova, ReactJS/AngularJS, Git & Best Git practices, Redis, Understanding of AWS EC2, S3 & Lamda, Understanding of modern JS toolchains such as Grunt/Bower and Yeoman. Strong in RESTful & Lamda services with GOlang is preferred.

About the role
We are looking for a backend developer to help us execute our product roadmap faster. You will design, spec, develop, test, and deploy new features that can scale.

Your work could be related to:

• Defining new merchandising or reporting functionality
• Adding more advanced search capabilities
• Improving scoring/recommendation models
• eCommerce platform integrations/API implementations
• Load testing/scaling features as we continuously grow
• Something new. There are always interesting new challenges that come our way. Here are a couple of things we’ve worked on recently:
  • Managing background jobs with competing performance goals like quick turnaround while staying within platform API limits
  • Embedding and dynamically changing products in an email even after sending it
  • Managing and coordinating multi data-center processes

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in Ruby On Rails (or a similar MVC framework like Express or Django). You are comfortable with Routes, Migrations, Models, Callbacks, Validations, and so on.
• Ability to design clean, scalable data structures for new features.
• A good understanding of design patterns so that complex processes are written in a maintainable way.
• Knowledge of managing source code with Git.
• Comfortable in a Linux OS.
• Good communication skills, and ability to clearly plan and describe features before building.

About You:
● You have a minimum of 7 years of experience working on production systems at a
productcompany with a decent scale
● You have a deep understanding of design patterns, memory/performance optimization, and how to summarise and share knowledge
● You have experience developing software services and an understanding of design for scalability,performance, and reliability
● You have excellent experience in managing security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and scalability
● You have familiarity with microservice architecture, containers, and related technologies
● You have strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including relevant backgroundin computer science fundamentals and agile development methodologies.
● You have a strong development experience in using modern web frameworks in
programminglanguages like Ruby on Rails, Python, Javascript.
● You have a strong understanding of relational databases and SQL and you practice test drivendevelopment

The person in this role:

 

- Will be involved in developing new monitoring scripts, enhancement & defect fixes on existing monitors

 

- Have to be on-call to support any incoming production/P1 internal issues which need urgent attention (team members are on call for a week and we have a weekly rotation policy within the team)

• Participate in planning, implementation of solutions, and transformation programs from legacy system to a cloud-based system
• Work with the team on Analysis, High level and low-level design for solutions using ETL or ELT based solutions and DB services in RDS

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5+ years of technical work experience in the implementation of complex, large scale, enterprise-wide projects including analysis, design, core development, and delivery
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience with expertise in Informatica ETL, Informatica Power Center, and Informatica Data Quality
• Experience with Informatica MDM tool is good to have
• Should be able to understand the scope of the work and ask for clarifications
• Should have advanced SQL skills. Including complex PL/SQL coding skills
• Knowledge of Agile is plus
• Well-versed with SOAP, Webservice, and REST API.
