Qualifications & Experience:

▪ 2 - 4 years overall experience in ETLs, data pipeline, Data Warehouse development and database design

▪ Software solution development using Hadoop Technologies such as MapReduce, Hive, Spark, Kafka, Yarn/Mesos etc.

▪ Expert in SQL, worked on advanced SQL for at least 2+ years

▪ Good development skills in Java, Python or other languages

▪ Experience with EMR, S3

▪ Knowledge and exposure to BI applications, e.g. Tableau, Qlikview

▪ Comfortable working in an agile environment

·      Mentor and influence junior developers to adhere to good coding standards and become quality conscious.

·      Review critical pieces of code that are developed as per this code design.

·      Ensure that the code being delivered is of the highest quality.

·      Ensure appropriate unit tests and functional as well as non-functional tests are considered.

·      Conceptualize and work towards building processes, methodology, and tools to improve team’s ability to deliver high quality software.

As a Software Engineer - Frontend you’ll be part of the Frontend team, implementing beautiful web designs made by our designers to keep both our site and the internal web-based tools we use fresh and up to date on top of working on new projects alongside this, there is always something new and interesting to work on. 

Your Team Mates

The frontend team consists of both our frontend developers and designers, we work closely with all parts of the business to create tools that vary across the whole company, from the publishing team to create a portal for people to submit games, the marketing team on things like our website, all the way to our internal teams for things like administration and analytics.

What Does The Job Actually Involve?

• Implementing designs for our website/web tools created by our design team

• Create and update interactive interfaces used throughout the company

Your Hard Skills

• Minimum 2 years browser-based programming experience

• A proven track record of programming high quality and innovative web pages using Javascript, HTML5 & CSS3 and relevant frameworks (ideally ReactJS but could also be others e.g. AngularJS, NodeJS, Handlebars, jquery, gulp)

• An excellent working knowledge of various programming languages, databases and scripting tools including at least one of bash, MySQL, CouchBase, Python, Java, C#, JSP, PHP

• A creative mindset motivated by challenges and constantly striving for the best

• Interest in mobile games

Job description
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer with strong PHP experience to join our software development team. We need someone who loves innovating, problem-solving and wants to be at the forefront of transformation.

- Produce scalable software solutions.

- Responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

- Handle both front-end and back-end coding, development frameworks, and third-party libraries.

- Participate in our product development from ideation to deployment and beyond

- Create ground-breaking new features for our users and customers, and for internal use

- Work with our data team to make our product smarter and more intuitive to use

- Maintain and help optimize existing systems

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience developing with modern PHP using Laravel or CakePHP
• Strong Javascript framework experience on a production environment (React, Angular, Vue,)
• 2+ years experience with React
• Experience building, maintaining, testing and documenting APIs to be used by other developers both internally and externally
• Experience with database management and optimization
• Experience with other data stores like Elastic Search, MongoDB or similar would be preferred
• Experience with git and related tools
