Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Application Production Support Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Internet Banking application support, Middleware technologies, and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical banking applications in a production environment.

The ideal candidate should have experience in troubleshooting production incidents, performing root cause analysis, monitoring application health, and coordinating with development, infrastructure, database, and business teams to ensure smooth banking operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Internet Banking applications and ensure high availability of critical banking services.
• Monitor application performance, system health, logs, and alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot application failures, transaction issues, login/authentication problems, API failures, and other Internet Banking-related incidents.
• Perform middleware administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting across application servers and related middleware components.
• Manage application deployments, pod monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting in OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
• Investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Work with middleware, database, network, infrastructure, DevOps, and development teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Support production releases, deployment validation, application restarts, and post-deployment health checks.
• Handle incident, problem, and change management processes in accordance with defined SLAs.
• Maintain technical documentation, incident reports, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
• Participate in rotational shifts, weekend support, and on-call support as required.

Mandatory Skills

• Internet Banking Application Support: Hands-on experience supporting Internet Banking applications in a production environment.
• Middleware Support: Practical experience in middleware monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting, and application server operations.
• OpenShift (OCP): Hands-on experience with pod monitoring, logs, deployments, troubleshooting, and basic cluster/application operations.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Linux/Unix commands and application log analysis.
• Good understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, and application connectivity.
• Experience working with ITSM tools and incident management processes.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Good to Have

• Experience in banking, financial services, or payment-related applications.
• Knowledge of Java/J2EE applications and application server technologies.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
• Basic SQL knowledge for production troubleshooting.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of banking security, authentication, and transaction processing workflows.

Required Experience

• Relevant Experience: 3–8 years in application production support.
• Domain Experience: Hands-on Internet Banking application support is mandatory.
• Technical Experience: Middleware and OpenShift (OCP) operational experience is mandatory.
• Work Environment: Production-critical applications with SLA-driven support.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a proactive support engineer who can independently troubleshoot production issues, manage incidents within defined SLAs, and ensure the reliability of Internet Banking services. Candidates must have practical production experience in all three key areas: Internet Banking, Middleware, and OpenShift (OCP).

Important: Candidates with only generic application support experience and no hands-on Internet Banking support experience will not be suitable for this role.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Highly experienced in Embedded C, C++ coding as per MISRA standards
• Experience in firmware programming for 8 bit, 16 bit and 32 bit controllers.
• Knowledgeable in Linker Scripts, Make files & firmware debugging using JTAG or on the UART console. 
• Experienced in Communication peripherals like SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, etc.

• Ideation, designing, prototyping, and developing as per product requirements.

• Expertise in system architecture and design for Embedded software systems.
• Develop modular Embedded Code to port into different projects.
• Experience on Real Time Systems and Scheduling mechanisms
• Development experience in "middleware" / “application” / Low layer.
• Experience with developing embedded code for networking technologies like TCP/IP and UDP would be a plus.
• Document state machine diagrams, flow charts to understand the system architecture
• Working closely with Design teams to understand Hardware Implementation.
• Develop Test methods, in some cases automated test cases to test the firmware code and support hardware engineers.
• Use Debuggers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other necessary electrical tools to debug the code for problem-solving.
• Excellent reading skills for complete understanding of technical documents such as Processor Architecture Specifications and MCU hardware manuals, schematics etc.
• Ability to generate ideas in response to complex issues and execute on solutions.
• Python programming is a big plus.
