What You’ll Do

• Design financial systems for scale. Measure, plan, iterate.
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Setup and own the engineering architectures built around event sourcing, application sharding, database sharding, service communication mesh, etc.
• The tech: Go, Google Cloud Spanner, Kafka, Redis

What you bring to the table

• 3+ years of experience. Relevant experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of 2 common programming languages - Java & Node / Rust /Python & Go
• Comfortable in linux command line, AWS or GCP
• Strong unit test and debugging skills
• Great communication skills

Our client is a rapid growth stage Edtech start-up focused on solving the teacher shortage crisis in the US education system using technology by bringing teachers to the classrooms and giving them access to the right tools to teach students in a highly engaging manner.

They have a development center in Mumbai and they are looking to scale up the teams in Pune and Bangalore as well.

What does the role entail:

● Lead User Stories and guide senior/software engineers in the development process

● Understand architecture principles, design patterns and implement them from architectural artifacts.

● Provide effort estimation of assigned work and be able to complete as per the estimations and timelines

● Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code including unit tests and integration tests to ensure software quality

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, and implement new features

● Participate in design and code reviews

● Ability to resolve performance issues

● Mentor junior software engineers and help them grow their technical skills

Must Have Skills:

● B.E/B.Tech in computer science

● 8-11 years of experience

● Hands-on experience following skills

MS Technologies: NET CORE 5+, C#

Backend : MSSQL /MySQL/Postgres 

● Good understanding of Cloud technologies like Azure/AWS.

● Good understanding of Design Principles, Design patterns and Microservices Architecture.

● Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills

● Worked in an Agile software development environment

Must understand full stack development frameworks including knowledge of building scalable APIs, interfaces, software components, schema design, availability, and latency preferably in a cloud environment.

● Worked in a fast-paced environment preferably in a tech driven startup

● Understanding of different types of architectures.

• Working knowledge of XML, JAVA, REST, SOAP etc
• Basic knowledge of SQL, including the ability to author ad-hoc database queries.
• Is comfortable writing code in Ruby, Python, JavaScript, and Java and enjoys learning new languages and technologies.
• Has experience integrating  APIs (major plus)
• Experienced integrating RESTful APIs into web applications (a plus)
• Is experienced with Github or the likes.
• Should have worked on Payment Gateway Applications.

• Has a technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics (MBA is an asset)
• Technical Product/Software certifications an asset
• Has 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar client-facing role
• Has previous experience in a traditional software engineering or Implementation role.
• Has strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Experienced with Salesforce is a plus

• You have experience building REST-based API's using Flask, Django or FastAPI in a production environment
• You have excellent knowledge of data structures, software design patterns and software architecture
• You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing requirements
• You have experience with code versioning (Git) and CI/CD (Jenkins, Circle, etc..) tools
• Familiarity/Experience with Elasticsearch is a huge plus
• Familiarity/Experience with FastAPI nice to have

Responsibilities : 

• Design and develop scalable, high performance, and reliable API driven services/applications in Java language that operate whole day.
• Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
• Interact with both business, financial research, and technical stakeholders to deliver high quality products and services that meets/exceeds business, customer, and technical requirements.
• Own products and code from cradle to grave including production quality/performance monitoring.

Required Skills :

• Experience building and running high performance enterprise applications developed in Java language.
• Hands on experience developing Java web applications built with modern standards-based APIs including Java based REST APIs and implementations. 
• Experience in Java language APIs, Spring technologies, Hibernate, JDBC, RDBMS and NoSQL based data persistence.
• Experience developing solutions on AWS Cloud leveraging AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Cloud Formation, and other related AWS technologies. 
• Solid understanding of Domain Modeling with Relational and Non-Relational Databases.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills, including ability to diagnose and fix performance and scalability issues.
• Experience working in an agile methodology-based development environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• BS/B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or a related field.

Responsibilities

Requirements

1. Solid experience in Node.js.

2. Good experience using frameworks such as Express.JS or Restify.

3. Willing to learn HapiJS.

4. Hands-on experience with JavaScript Development.

5. Able to work independently and carry out a task to achieve the design goal with minimal supervision.

6. Good programming skills and communications.

• Strong programming skills in Javascript/TypeScript, Python or Go.
• Hands-on experience in API development and frameworks such Express, Loopback, Hapi.
• Good Understanding of SQL and NoSQL database.
• Experience in test driven development. (writing unit test and API test).
• Understanding of basic cloud computing concepts and experience in using any of the major cloud service providers(AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Ability to build and deploy the application in a containerized environment.
• Understanding of application logging and monitoring systems like Prometheus or Kibana.

Qualification: 

• B.E/B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech/M.S. from a reputed university with a good academic record.
• Curiosity to explore the cutting edge technologies and bake them in the products.
