Key Responsibilities:
- First-Line IT Support: Respond to user inquiries related to IT issues, providing solutions over phone, email, chat, or the service desk portal.
- Incident and Request Management: Log, track, and resolve technical incidents and service requests, ensuring all requests are documented and managed according to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Troubleshooting: Perform basic troubleshooting on hardware, software, and network issues. Provide step-by-step guidance to resolve issues, escalating more complex problems to higher-tier support teams.
- User Account Management: Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions. Assist with onboarding and offboarding users, ensuring timely access to systems and applications.
- System Monitoring: Monitor IT systems, applications, and networks for issues, ensuring proactive response to potential service disruptions.
- Documentation & Knowledge Base: Create and maintain clear and concise documentation of issues and solutions. Update the knowledge base with frequently asked questions, common issues, and resolutions.
- Hardware and Software Setup: Assist with the setup and configuration of hardware, software, and applications for users, ensuring systems are properly installed and functioning.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues, improve processes, and ensure high availability of systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), hardware components, and common business applications.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively with other IT professionals, as well as users across departments.
- Experience: Previous experience in a service desk or IT support role is an advantage.
