Role Overview

Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) at AbleCredit are elite, full-stack problem solvers who operate where cutting-edge AI meets real-world enterprise challenges. This is not a typical engineering role—you will architect and deploy solutions that transform how some of India’s largest Banks and NBFCs make decisions, run operations, and serve millions of customers.

As an FDE, you will work at the frontline of value creation, collaborating directly with CXOs, credit heads, operations leaders, and on-ground teams. You will deeply understand their workflows, tear down decades-old processes, and rebuild them using AI-driven automation across voice, vision, and language. 

You will be the engineer who solves problems that have never been solved before—thinking from first principles, crafting novel technical approaches, and shipping production systems that create measurable impact on enterprise P&Ls within weeks, not months.

What You’ll Do

• Partner directly with enterprise customers to design and deploy AI systems that automate workflows in underwriting, risk, operations, and collections.
• Own end-to-end technical delivery: scoping, architecture, integrations, workflow orchestration, debugging, optimization, and customization.
• Solve messy, high-impact engineering problems inside mission-critical enterprise systems—often inventing new approaches on the fly.
• Build production-grade AI pipelines using voice, vision, and language models tailored to each client’s environment by stitching AbleCredit AI nodes and capabilities in a workflow.
• Work side-by-side with customer teams, understanding granular workflow details and reimagining them using AI and software automation.
• Ship fast, iterate fast, and see your work go live in days—not quarters.
• Influence the product roadmap by identifying patterns across deployments and building reusable modules that accelerate future implementations.
• Become a hybrid engineer who writes code, designs workflows, thinks in systems, and collaborates directly with business stakeholders.

What Skills You Should Have

• Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to design, build, and debug production systems end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience working with AI-powered workflows—LLMs, OCR/vision models, speech systems, or retrieval pipelines.
• Ability to break down ambiguous, first-principles problems into clear, executable technical solutions.
• Comfort integrating with enterprise systems (APIs, databases, authentication, workflow tools) and navigating messy real-world environments.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills to work directly with enterprise stakeholders and translate needs into engineered outcomes.
• High ownership mindset with a bias for rapid execution, iteration, and shipping solutions that deliver real business impact.
• Strong workflow thinking—can model processes, identify bottlenecks, and orchestrate AI + software components seamlessly.
• Adaptability and resilience in fast-changing, high-stakes environments where requirements evolve and solutions must scale quickly.

What You Should Have Done in the Past

• Built and shipped production-ready systems in fast-paced environments, ideally taking features or products from zero to launch end-to-end.
• Worked on AI-driven workflows such as chatbots, OCR/vision automation, speech systems, LLM-based tools, or data processing pipelines.
• Integrated software with real-world enterprise systems—APIs, legacy databases, authentication layers, workflow engines, or internal IT stacks.
• Solved ambiguous, high-impact engineering problems where requirements were unclear and solutions required first-principles thinking.
• Worked directly with customers, product teams, or business stakeholders to understand workflows, gather requirements, and deliver solutions.
• Debugged and optimized complex systems in production environments, especially where uptime and accuracy mattered.
• Led or contributed major components in projects involving workflow orchestration, automation, or large-scale process redesign.

Position Summary

You will be responsible for driving customer outcomes, retention, and expansion by owning the post-sales relationship with enterprise clients across Banks and NBFCs. This includes onboarding, workflow mapping, driving adoption, resolving escalations, and ensuring that customers achieve measurable business impact through our Generative AI products. You will collaborate closely with Product, Delivery, and Sales teams to create a seamless customer experience.

What You Will Do:

• Enable Banks and NBFCs to transform their credit, risk, and operations workflows using AbleCredit’s Generative AI systems across voice, vision, and language automation.
• Lead the end-to-end onboarding journey for enterprise customers, ensuring smooth implementation, configuration, and go-live.
• Understand customer credit, underwriting, risk, operations, and collection workflows; identify where AI can improve efficiency, reduce costs, or increase throughput.
• Drive product adoption by defining success plans, usage targets, and measurable business outcomes for each customer.
• Build strong relationships with CXOs, risk heads, credit heads, and ops leaders to position AbleCredit as a strategic partner.
• Proactively engage customers through regular reviews, performance insights, and value-realization sessions.
• Own renewal strategy and collaborate with Sales on upselling and expansion opportunities.
• Act as the primary escalation point for customer issues; work with Delivery / Product to ensure timely resolution.
• Monitor account health using product analytics; identify churn risks early and execute recovery plans.
• Gather product feedback from customers and work closely with Product teams to influence roadmap direction.
• Develop playbooks and repeatable processes for onboarding, support, and customer lifecycle management.
• Mentor junior Customer Success Managers and help scale the function as the customer base grows.
• Stay updated on digital lending, AI automation trends, risk frameworks, and compliance norms within BFSI.

You Should Have:

• 7–12 years of experience in Customer Success or Delivery roles for enterprise SaaS, preferably in BFSI.
• Mandatory experience working with Banks, NBFCs, or Financial Institutions—either as a vendor or within their digital/credit/risk teams.
• Strong understanding of lending workflows: credit underwriting, KYC, risk operations, collections, or loan lifecycle management.
• Experience driving adoption of complex enterprise SaaS or AI/analytics products.
• Excellent communication, program management, and executive stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate customer problems into product workflows and measurable value.
• A proactive problem-solver with the ability to navigate ambiguity and manage cross-functional dependencies.
• Ambition to grow into a senior Customer Success Leader role.

Role: Lead Software Engineer (Backend)

Salary: INR 28 to INR 40L per annum

Performance Bonus: Up to 10% of the base salary can be added

• Operate with full technical ownership — make architectural decisions, review code, and mentor junior engineers to maintain quality and velocity.
• Build scalable, event-driven services leveraging AWS Lambda, SQS/SNS, and modern asynchronous patterns.
• Work with cross-functional teams to design robust notification systems, third-party integrations, and data pipelines that meet enterprise reliability and security standards.

The Skills You Have..

• Strong background as an Individual Contributor — capable of owning systems from concept to production without heavy oversight.
• Expertise in system design, scalability, and fault-tolerant architecture.
• Proficiency in Node.js (bonus) or another backend language such as Go, Java, or Python.
• Deep understanding of SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/DynamoDB) systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services — Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, and event-based systems.
• Experience in designing and scaling notification systems and third-party API integrations.
• Proficiency in event-driven architectures and multi-threading/concurrency models.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, security practices, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring tools.
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and code review skills.

What You Should Have Done in the Past

• Delivered multiple complex backend systems or microservices from scratch in a production environment.
• Led system design discussions and guided teams on performance, reliability, and scalability trade-offs.
• Mentored SDE-1 and SDE-2 engineers, enabling them to deliver features independently.
• Owned incident response and root cause analysis for production systems.
• (Bonus) Built or contributed to serverless systems using AWS Lambda, with clear metrics on uptime, throughput, and cost-efficiency.
