Position Overview:We are looking for a skilled Node.js / AI Engineer to join our Lighthouse Tech Team. This role is focused on application development, where you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying intelligent, AI-powered applications. You will leverage your expertise in Node.js and modern AI technologies to build sophisticated systems that feature Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust and scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js.
• Design, build, and integrate AI-powered features into our core applications.
• Implement and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems to ensure accurate and context-aware responses.
• Develop and orchestrate autonomous AI agents to automate complex tasks and workflows.
• Work with third-party LLM APIs (like OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and open-source models, fine-tuning and adapting them for specific use cases.
• Collaborate with product managers and developers to define application requirements and deliver high-quality, AI-driven solutions.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of AI-powered applications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend application development with a strong focus on Node.js.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in AI-related development, including building applications that integrate with Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Demonstrable experience developing AI agents and implementing RAG patterns.
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and libraries relevant to application development (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Chroma, Weaviate) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 8-12 years of experience in front-end development, with a strong focus on React.js.
• Proven experience with React.js and related technologies (e.g., Redux, React Router, Hooks, Context API).
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, Server Sent Events, WebSockets
• Hand’s on experience with web components, microfrontends
• Deep understanding of browser apis like history, intersectionobserver, event handling, virtual panes, drag and drop etc
• Ability to work on a complex and fast moving code base.
• Familiarity with TypeScript and its integration with React applications.

Key responsibilities 

· To attend meetings with potential Clients to determine technical and business requirements 

and ensuring that all necessary information is collated prior to producing a solution 

· Provide technical solutions in a professional manner and to agreed timeframes 

· Ability to demonstrate product and technologies effectively to audiences of varied technical 

knowledge 

· Create and confidently deliver technical presentations internally and externally 

· Deliver training on solutions and provide product support to channel partners and internal 

stakeholders 

· Create internal design configuration documentation including network diagrams with 

technical explanations 

· Work with Product Management to feedback on issues with current products and provide 

input around new products 

· Builds productive relationships internally and externally, fostering teamwork by keeping 

colleagues updated on activities 

· Perform technical development for bespoke solutions as part of a design and development 

frame work 

· Able to understand business drivers and risks involved to the customer 

· Prepare comparison documents against competitors 

· Sell technical solutions to the customer with professionalism and enthusiasm 

· Provide accurate and timely management information, to include - activity reports, bid 

reviews, project forecasts, KPI’s

· To structure and produce compelling sales proposals/commercial and technical 

documentation outlining the cost savings and business benefits to clients 

· To assume responsibility for running a bid team, where relevant 

· Interface with the implementation / project team, articulating customer requirement, to

Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products. 

• Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
• Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
• Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
• Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
• Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance

• Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as Linear regression, SVM, Decision Forests, LSTM, CNN etc.
• Experience with Deep Learning preferred.
• Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, NumPy, MatLab, etc. Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable
• Great communication skills
• Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig
