About the Role

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer (SDET) to own and scale automation across our web, backend, mobile, and AI-driven workflows.

This is a hands-on automation engineering role, not a manual testing role. You will build and maintain Playwright-based automation, strengthen mobile and API testing, integrate automation into CI/CD, and work closely with engineering teams to catch issues before they reach production.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain Playwright-based end-to-end automation for web applications.
• Build and maintain mobile test automation for Android and/or iOS using Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or equivalent tools.
• Develop automated tests for REST/GraphQL APIs and validate backend data using SQL.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and maintain reliable test execution.
• Identify and resolve flaky tests and continuously improve automation coverage and reliability.
• Use AI coding assistants such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools for test authoring, debugging, and test-data generation.
• Work closely with frontend, backend, and AI engineering teams to identify testability gaps early.
• Contribute to testing AI/LLM-driven features, where expected outputs may not always be deterministic.

Must Have

• 6–8 years of experience in QA/SDET or test automation roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright — mandatory.
• Hands-on mobile automation experience — mandatory using Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or equivalent.
• Strong experience in API/backend automation using REST or GraphQL.
• Good knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• Strong programming and automation skills.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar.
• Ability to independently own automation initiatives.

Good to Have

• Experience testing AI/LLM, chatbot, conversational AI, or voice bot products.
• Experience with Langfuse or similar LLM observability tools.
• Experience with Datadog or similar APM tools.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Exposure to performance/load testing tools such as k6 or JMeter.

This Role Is Not For

• Candidates whose experience is primarily in manual testing.
• Candidates with limited hands-on coding or automation experience.
• Candidates without practical Playwright experience.
• Candidates without mobile automation experience.
• Candidates who have only executed test cases on an existing framework without meaningful automation ownership.

As a Delivery Manager, you make delivery reliable across a portfolio of game studios. You do not build the games. Each studio lead owns their team’s production and their committed dates. Your job is to validate and de-risk those commitments before they go upward, and to own the cross-studio seam no single studio can see: risks, dependencies, and blockers across teams.

You lead through influence, not direct control. You support studio leads toward autonomy and scale your involvement to how established each one is. You go hands-on where a lead is still growing and stay light-touch where they run reliably on their own.

The strongest sign of your success is a studio that no longer needs you. You also line-manage a

team of Delivery Coordinators who keep day-to-day coordination running.

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate & De-Risk Commitments: Stress-test each studio lead’s delivery plan, estimates, and risks before they go upward. You challenge and de-risk; you do not overwrite. Where a date stays in dispute, you escalate it cleanly rather than override.
• Own the Cross-Studio Seam: Coordinate and clarify dependencies, risks, and blockers across studios, always respecting each studio lead's ownership of their own team.
• Support Studio Leads Toward Autonomy: Support studio leads as they grow, matched to each studio’s maturity. Work more closely with newer leads and ease off as a studio runs reliably on its own. Think of your role as scaffolding: temporary support that helps a studio stand on its own.
• Lead & Develop Coordinators: Line-manage a team of Delivery Coordinators, set consistent coordination standards, and grow their careers. Arbitrate when a studio’s day-to-day urgency and your cross-studio priorities collide, so your coordinators are never caught between two bosses.
• Manage Risk & Escalation: Decide which risks to absorb and which to escalate. Raise issues early, with clear framing and timing, so the business handles them before they reach senior leadership.
• Be the Single Source of Delivery Truth: Act as the one trusted channel between your studios and the wider business. PMO, governance, and senior leadership read the delivery picture through you and the shared board, not by interrogating individual teams. Keep that picture accurate and current.

What Success Looks Like (First 3 to 6 Months)

• You validate and de-risk studio commitments before they go upward, so dates hold and disputes escalate cleanly when they arise.
• You reconcile cross-studio dependencies and resourcing conflicts before they stall a team.
• Your coordinators operate to a consistent standard, and growing studio leads are visibly more autonomous than when you started.
• The Director of Delivery has one trusted source of delivery truth for your portfolio.

Required Qualifications:

MUST HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience: 5+ years as a Delivery Manager or delivery lead for cross-functional teams of 5 to 50 people, ideally across multiple teams at once.
• Delivery Craft: Strong command of the SDLC and Agile delivery: planning and execution, risk management, quality assurance, resource management, performance monitoring, and stakeholder management.
• Influence Without Authority: A proven track record of securing reliable commitments from leaders you do not directly manage, and of holding a portfolio-level view across competing teams.
• People Leadership: Experience managing and developing coordinators, PMs, or similar. You set standards and grow people, not just track tasks.
• Mindset: A startup mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and ready to build and scale a delivery function from the ground up.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

• Knowledge or hands-on experience in the game development industry and its production process.
• Experience in the Gaming industry (highly desirable).
• Background with startups and/or IT companies.
• Technical literacy in one or more of Java, NodeJS, ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Cocos.
• A data and metrics driven approach to monitoring delivery health.
