DevOps Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our dynamic team. This role requires strong technical expertise across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code (IaC). The ideal candidate should also have direct client-facing experience and a proactive approach to managing both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external clients to understand infrastructure requirements and implement DevOps best practices.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, etc.).
• Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage and orchestrate containers using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Write robust automation scripts using Python and Shell scripting.
• Monitor system performance and availability, and ensure high uptime and reliability.
• Execute and optimize SQL queries for MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Maintain clear documentation and provide technical support to stakeholders and clients.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role.
• Proven experience in client-facing engagements and communication.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services – EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, etc.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Strong experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitHub.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, schedule, and manage all releases across product and customer projects.
• Define and maintain the release calendar, identifying dependencies and managing risks proactively.
• Partner with engineering, QA, DevOps, and product management to ensure release readiness.
• Create release documentation (notes, guides, videos) for both internal stakeholders and customers.
• Run a release review process with product leads before publishing.
• Publish releases and updates to the company website release section.
• Drive communication of release details to internal teams and customers in a clear, concise way.
• Manage post-release validation and rollback procedures when required.
• Continuously improve release management through automation, tooling, and process refinement.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 3+ years of experience in Release Management, DevOps, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, source control (Git), and build/deployment practices.
• Experience creating release documentation and customer-facing content (videos, notes, FAQs).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate technical changes into business impact.
• Familiarity with SaaS, iPaaS, or enterprise software environments is a strong plus.

Job Description

• Assessing existing customer systems and/or cloud environment to determine the best migration approach and supporting tools used
• Build a secure and compliant cloud environment, with a proven enterprise operating model, on-going cost optimisation, and day-to-day infrastructure management
• Provide and implement cloud solutions to reduce operational overhead and risk, and automates common activities, such as change requests, monitoring, patch management, security, and backup services, and provides full-lifecycle services to provision, run, and support their infrastructure
• Collaborate with internal service teams to meet the clients’ needs for their infrastructure and application deployments
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure deployments, recreate customer issues, and build proof of concept environments that abide by cloud-best-practices & well architecture frameworks
• Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers’ individual needs
• Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that will span across multiple cloud platforms and services
• Identify and drive improvements on process and technical related issues. Act as an escalation point of contact for the clients
• Drive clients meetings & communication during reviews

Requirement:

• Degree in computer science or a similar field.
• At least 2 year of experience in the field of cloud computing.
• Experience with CI/CD systems.
• Strong in Cloud services
• Exposure to AWS/GCP and other cloud-based infrastructure platforms
• Experience with AWS configuration and management – EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, IAM, VPC, RDS, CloudFront etc
• Exposure in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms or other cloud server such as Azure, Google Cloud
• Proficient in the use and administration of all versions of MS Windows Server
• Experience with Linux and Windows system administration and web server configuration and monitoring
• Solid programming skills in Python, Java, Perl
• Good understanding of software design principles and best practices
• Good knowledge of REST APIs
• Should have hands-on experience in any deployment orchestration tool (Jenkins, Urbancode, Bamboo, etc.)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm charts
• Hands on experience in Ansible and Git repositories
• Knowledge in Maven / Gradle
• Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications are preferred.

• Design, Develop, deploy, and run operations of infrastructure services in the Acqueon AWS cloud environment
• Manage uptime of Infra & SaaS Application
• Implement application performance monitoring to ensure platform uptime and performance
• Building scripts for operational automation and incident response

• Define, measure, and meet key operational metrics including performance, incidents and chronic problems, capacity, and availability

• Participate in product engineering meetings to ensure product features and patches comply with cloud deployment standards
• Troubleshoot and analyse performance issues and customer reported incidents working to restore services within the SLA

As a Cloud Operations Manager in Acqueon you will need…. 

• 8 years’ progressive experience managing IT infrastructure and global cloud environments such as AWS, GCP (must)
• 3-5 years management experience leading a Cloud Operations / Site Reliability / Production Engineering team working with globally distributed teams in a fast-paced environment
• 3-5 years’ experience in IAC (Terraform, K8)
• 3+ years end-to-end incident management experience
• Experience with communicating and presenting to all stakeholders
• Experience with Cloud Security compliance and audits
• Detail-oriented. The ideal candidate is one who naturally digs as deep as they need to understand the why
• Knowledge on GCP will be added advantage
• Manage and monitor customer instances for uptime and reliability
