Devops Engineer

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with hands-on experience in cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure automation. The ideal candidate is someone who loves solving reliability challenges, automating everything, and ensuring seamless delivery across environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and GitHub.
• Manage and optimize infrastructure on AWS/GCP, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build, automate, and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Configure and manage automation tools and workflows using Ansible.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure smooth operations.
• Implement best practices for code management, release processes, and DevOps standards.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to improve build pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Write scripts in Python/Bash to automate operational tasks.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong expertise in AWS or GCP cloud services.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, service mesh, packaging).
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions for source control and CI/CD.
• Good knowledge of Jenkins pipelines and automation.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management.
• Strong scripting skills using Python or Bash.
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, and security best practices.

9. You love coaching people - about the 12-factor apps or the latest tool that reduced your time of doing a task by X times and so on. You lead by example when it comes to technical work and community.
10. You understand the areas you have worked on very well but, you are curious about many systems that you may not have worked on and want to fiddle with them.
11. You know that understanding applications and the runtime technologies gives you a better perspective - you never looked at them as two different things.

What you will be learning and doing?

1. You will be working with customers trying to transform their applications and adopt cloud-native technologies. The technologies used will be Kubernetes, Prometheus, Service Mesh, Distributed tracing and public cloud technologies or on-premise infrastructure.
2. The problems and solutions are continuously evolving in space but fundamentally you will be solving problems with simplest and scalable automation.
3. You will be building open source tools for problems that you think are common across customers and industry. No one ever benefited from re-inventing the wheel, did they? 
4. You will be hacking around open source projects, understand their capabilities, limitations and apply the right tool for the right job.
5. You will be educating the customers - from their operations engineers to developers on scalable ways to build and operate applications in modern cloud-native infrastructure.

Key Skills Required:

·         You will be part of the DevOps engineering team, configuring project environments, troubleshooting integration issues in different systems also be involved in building new features for next generation of cloud recovery services and managed services. 

·         You will directly guide the technical strategy for our clients and build out a new capability within the company for DevOps to improve our business relevance for customers. 

·         You will be coordinating with Cloud and Data team for their requirements and verify the configurations required for each production server and come with Scalable solutions.

·         You will be responsible to review infrastructure and configuration of micro services and packaging and deployment of application

To be the right fit, you'll need:

·         Expert in Cloud Services like AWS.

·         Experience in Terraform Scripting.

·         Experience in container technology like Docker and orchestration like Kubernetes.

·         Good knowledge of frameworks such as Jenkins, CI/CD pipeline, Bamboo Etc.

·         Experience with various version control system like GIT, build tools (Mavan, ANT, Gradle ) and cloud automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible)

5 to 10 years of software development & coding experience

Experience with Infrastructure as Code development (Automation, CICD) AWS CloudFormation, AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy are a must have. 

Experience troubleshooting AWS policy or permissions related errors during resource deployments \

Programming experience; preferred Python, PowerShell, bash development experience \

Have Experience with application build automation tools like Apache Maven, Jenkins, Concourse, and Git supporting continuous integration / continuous deployment capabilities (CI/CD) à GitHub and GitHub actions for deployments are must-have skills (Maven, Jenkins, etc. are nice to have)

Have configuration management experience (Chef, Puppet, or Ansible)

Worked in a Development Shop or have SDLC hands on Experience

Familiar with how to write software, test plans, automate and release using modern development methods

AWS certified at an appropriate level

• At least 5 year of experience in Cloud technologies-AWS and Azure and developing. 
• Experience in implementing DevOps practices and DevOps-tools in areas like CI/CD using Jenkins environment automation, and release automation, virtualization, infra as a code or metrics tracking.
• Hands on experience in DevOps tools configuration in different environments.
• Strong knowledge of working with DevOps design patterns, processes and best practices
• Hand-on experience in Setting up Build pipelines.
• Prior working experience in system administration or architecture in Windows or Linux.
• Must have experience in GIT (BitBucket, GitHub, GitLab)
• Hands-on experience on Jenkins pipeline scripting.

• Configuration level skills in tools like SonarQube (or similar tools) and Artifactory.
• Expertise on Virtual Infrastructure (VMWare or VirtualBox or QEMU or KVM or Vagrant) and environment automation/provisioning using SaltStack/Ansible/Puppet/Chef
• Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing Azure cloud based production systems including monitoring capacity.
• Good to have experience in migrating code repositories from one source control to another.
• Hands-on experience in Docker container and orchestration based deployments like Kubernetes, Service Fabric, Docker swarm.
• Must have good communication skills and problem solving skills
