Data Engineer

Carsome’s Data Department is on the lookout for a Data Scientist/Data Science Lead who has a strong passion in building data powered products.

Data Science function under the Data Department has a responsibility for standardisation of methods, mentoring team of data science resources/interns, including code libraries and documentation, quality assurance of outputs, modeling techniques and statistics, leveraging a variety of technologies, open-source languages, and cloud computing platform. 

You will get to lead & implement projects such as price optimization/prediction, enabling iconic personalization experiences for our customer, inventory optimization etc.

Job Descriptions

• Identifying and integrating datasets that can be leveraged through our product and work closely with data engineering team to develop data products.
• Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across functions such as operations, finance, logistics, marketing. 
• Identify, prioritize, and design testing opportunities that will inform algorithm enhancements. 
• Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy.
• Unlock insights by analyzing large amounts of complex website traffic and transactional data. 
• Implement analytical models into production by collaborating with data analytics engineers.

Technical Requirements

• Expertise in model design, training, evaluation, and implementation ML Algorithm expertise K-nearest neighbors, Random Forests, Naive Bayes, Regression Models. PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, deep learning expertise, tSNE, gradient boosting expertise, regression implementation expertise, Python, Pyspark, SQL, R, AWS Sagemaker /personalize etc.
• Machine Learning / Data Science Certification

Experience & Education 

• Bachelor’s in Engineering / Master’s in Data Science  / Postgraduate Certificate in Data Science.

Job Description: As a Junior Software Test Engineer you will be responsible for creation of test cases and scenarios, test planning, testing of systems, test automation and reporting of test results. In addition, responsibilities will include working closely with programmers and analysts as well as programming and improving testing tools.

Role and Responsibilities

• Analyze users’ stories, use cases, requirements for validity and feasibility
• Collaborate closely with other team members and departments
• Execute all levels of testing (Functional, Integration, Regression and System)
• Knowledge on API’s Testing and Database Testing
• Review and provide comments on business and software requirements
• Prepare test cases, scripts, and data for the tests
• Execute manual test cases
• Understanding on SDLC, STLC and Bug life cycle
• Analyze the outcomes of the tests and keep track of the software testing metrics
• Prepare and present test reports 

Required Qualifications

• 0-2 years of software testing experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent)
• Experience with web, Mobile and API  Testing
• Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming ( Java or Python) 
• Basic knowledge of SQL
• Experience in creating test documentation (Test Plan, test report, basic test metrics)
• Knowledge of at least one database management system
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Knowledge of the software development methodologies and the ability to integrate with the models (e.g. Agile, Waterfall)
• Awareness of Latest Web and Mobile Technology Trends
• Strong knowledge of software testing types and the ways to apply them

JOB ROLE: PRODUCT DESIGN
Roles And Responsibilities:

• Work with internal and external customers for requirements and implementation details focused on making user-experience recommendations.
• Conduct user interviews and be responsible for writing interview scripts.
• Facilitate cross-functional team in brainstorming ideas to solve user problems.
• Translate ideas rapidly into high-level designs and user journey flows that address the
  issue while contributing to holistic user experience within the product.
• Collaborate with Experience Designers to translate designs and user journey flows into
  prototypes for new products, experiences, and features.
• Analyze post-launch user data to identify opportunities to improve UX/UI.
• Proficient knowledge in Autodesk fusion 360 modelling software.

• Demonstrated ability to apply design thinking methodologies to new product and feature innovation.
• Proven ability to conduct and analyze user research that drives design decisions.
• Demonstrated experience in designing for diverse groups of people (e.g., international audiences, multi-language localization, etc.).

EXPERIENCE:

We as a team are looking for freshers or young professionals with (0-4 years of experience) passion and eagerness to build products that are easy to use and visually appealing to our potential customer.  

• should have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in backend software development using Java.
• should have proven expertise in Spring Boot REST/Microservices.
• should have used design patterns like MVP, MVC or MVVM and should know when to use which.
• should have working experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• should have multiple years of experience with cloud application design  and in one or more reputable cloud platform providers (e.g. AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure … )
• should have professional experience working in an agile development environment.
• should have strong communication skills and like making decisions.
• should follow good software engineering principles such as TDD, writing modular, maintainable and clean code
