The Head - Artificial Intelligence & Embedded Systems plays a pivotal role in leading the labs strategic vision and operational excellence, fostering a culture of innovation and "learning by doing" among students. This individual is responsible for setting the labs strategic direction, managing a team of stream leaders, and ensuring the labs success in bridging the gap between academia and industry. As a thought leader and brand ambassador, the Head of the lab promotes the labs focus areas both internally and externally, embodying the qualities of leadership and innovation that inspire students and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities:
Vision and Strategy:
Develop and communicate a clear vision for the Innovation Labs, aligning with the institution’s strategic objectives.
Set strategic goals for the lab, including defining key areas of focus, innovation strategies, and research priorities.
Ensure the labs activities contribute to the broader academic and research missions of the institution.
Leadership and Management:
Lead and manage a team of stream leaders, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Drive a culture of "learning by doing", encouraging students and mentors to engage in hands-on, experiential learning. Impact key outcomes like placements, hackathon wins, patents etc.
Oversee the labs operations, ensuring resources are effectively allocated and managed to support its goals.
Ensure that the academia-innovation labs gap is bridged.
Innovation Lab - Industry Interface:
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, facilitating collaborations that enhance the labs research and innovation projects.
Serve as a key liaison between the lab and academic departments, promoting interdisciplinary industry relevant research and learning opportunities.
Lead initiatives to secure funding, sponsorship, and partnerships that support the labs activities and growth.
Brand Ambassador and Thought Leadership:
Act as a brand ambassador and thought leader, representing the Innovation Labs at conferences, seminars, and public forums.

Skills Required:
- Good experience with programming language Python
