Lead Mobile Engineer - Android & iOS, AI-Native Healthcare Apps

📍 Location: Hyderabad, India

📍 Work Type: Full-Time | On-site / Hybrid

Role Overview

Lead design, development, and delivery of mobile apps across Android and iOS. Own architecture, quality, and mobile engineering practice. Integrate Voice AI, conversational AI, and real-time features into patient-facing healthcare applications.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Architecture & Delivery

•    Lead architecture and development of native or cross-platform mobile apps (Android & iOS)

•    Set technical direction, coding standards, and best practices for mobile

•    Deliver performant, polished, accessible mobile experiences at scale

•    Own app release process: app store submissions, versioning, mobile CI/CD

AI & Real-Time Integration

•    Integrate Voice AI, conversational AI, and LLM-powered features into mobile

•    Build real-time patient engagement experiences (streaming, push, WebSockets)

•    Collaborate with backend, product, and design on cohesive AI experiences

Quality & SDLC

•    Monitor app performance, crashes, and user feedback; drive continuous improvement

•    Champion mobile SDLC practices: testing, CI/CD, code review, release management

•    Leverage AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code) to increase velocity

Leadership & Mentorship

•    Mentor and guide mobile engineers; conduct technical reviews

•    Own mobile engineering standards and drive architectural decisions

Requirements

•    5–7 years mobile development (Android & iOS)

•    Strong native expertise: Kotlin/Java (Android) and/or Swift (iOS)

•    OR cross-platform expertise: React Native or Flutter

•    Proven mobile architecture and technical decision leadership

•    Deep mobile performance, offline support, and security knowledge

•    Full app release lifecycle and store guidelines experience

•    Track record mentoring engineers and leading delivery

•    API integration and mobile-backend communication expertise

•    Strong ownership mindset and AI-first working style

Nice-to-Have

•    AI/LLM or conversational AI features in mobile apps

•    Video stack experience: streaming, recording, real-time communication (WebRTC)

•    Real-time/streaming and push notification systems at scale

•    Mobile open-source contributions or published apps at scale

•    Healthcare technology or health-tech startup experience

REQUIREMENTS:

• 16+ years of experience in designing and developing technology solutions using a variety of platforms, languages, and tools, with at least 5+ years of software architecture experience
• Strong background into Devops, Azure, Java, .NET, all mobile, web and backend solutions
• Ability to think breakthroughs by leveraging new age technologies and a deep understanding of the client’s business and the industry they operate in 
• Ability to lead by example by picking up coding of complex functionalities when required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Owning the technology health of the project / account on all key metrics 
• Ensuring projects / accounts meet technical standards of governance, technology standards and best practices
• Owning the long term as well as the short-term technology strategy of your project / account
• Identifying opportunities in the current engagement to cross sell or up sell Nagarro’s offerings  
• Conceptualizing and owning the technical architecture and design of the projects you are influencing
• Harnessing your consulting skills in a culture that promotes opportunities to provide thought leadership and breakthrough solutions for our clients.
• Running workshops internally and with customers on technology and business topics to create new solution areas and use cases
• Communicating and driving adoption of organizational technology initiatives in your account
• Mentoring and managing team members, by giving constant on-the-job feedback, and by providing guidance
• If you are aligned with a Center of Excellence (CoE) or practice –
• Defining the vision for the practice/CoE, creating plan/budget for the practice

Roles and responsibilities:

• Should be the single point of contact for all project related queries and concerns.
• Should ensure project delivery and quality at desired level.
• Adherence to the Process.
• Oversee daily activities of the team and provide direction and guidance as needed.
• Manage resources as per workload.
• Address delivery issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensure operational excellence by making team technically competent enough.
• Evaluate the performance of team members and determine training needs.

Desired candidate profile:

• Overall experience of 15 Yrs. to 20 Yrs.
• 5+ yrs. of experience on project management and project delivery.
• Should have proven experience on coding and managing teams using Java, J2ee, iOS, Android, AWS, Node JS, and Python.
• Adoption to the new technologies is desired.
• Understanding of firmware and protocols related to IOT, Bluetooth will be added advantage
• Required to be technical and hands on coding if needed.
• Candidates should be Process oriented and execute projects in Scrum/Agile methodologies.
