Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, with at least 6+ years of expertise in software development, architecture, and team leadership. As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical direction of our software development team, architecting robust solutions, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities:

·   Architect and lead the development of scalable, high-performance web applications utilizing Node.js / Javascript and MySQL with good to have experience in Angular.

·   Provide technical leadership and guidance to the software development team, overseeing backend and frontend development efforts.

·   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, establish project timelines, and align software development strategies with business objectives.

·   Drive the implementation of best practices in software engineering, including code quality standards, unit testing, code reviews, and CI/CD processes.

·   Mentor and coach engineering team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

·   Lead technical discussions, identify opportunities for innovation, and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance our product offerings.

·   Analyze system architecture and design, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability of our software solutions.

·   Partner with stakeholders to define technical roadmaps, prioritize features, and deliver impactful solutions that meet customer needs.

·   Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.

Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

·      Proven track record as an Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role within software development.

·      Proficiency in JavaScript, with expertise in Node.js.

·      Experience working with technologies such as Redis, GraphQL, Messaging Brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ, Integrating third party APIs

·      Experience in architecting and developing high-load, scalable web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies.

·      Strong proficiency in RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.

·      Demonstrated expertise in database design, optimization, and management, particularly with MySQL.

·      Familiarity with frontend technologies such as Angular desirable.

·      Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.

·      Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

·      Experience with modern development tools and technologies, including Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking to hire someone to help scale Machine Learning and NLP efforts at Episource. You’ll work with the team that develops the models powering Episource’s product focused on NLP driven medical coding. Some of the problems include improving our ICD code recommendations, clinical named entity recognition, improving patient health, clinical suspecting and information extraction from clinical notes.

This is a role for highly technical data engineers who combine outstanding oral and written communication skills, and the ability to code up prototypes and productionalize using a large range of tools, algorithms, and languages. Most importantly they need to have the ability to autonomously plan and organize their work assignments based on high-level team goals.

You will be responsible for setting an agenda to develop and ship data-driven architectures that positively impact the business, working with partners across the company including operations and engineering. You will use research results to shape strategy for the company and help build a foundation of tools and practices used by quantitative staff across the company.

During the course of a typical day with our team, expect to work on one or more projects around the following;

1. Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architectures for ML

2. Develop a strong API ecosystem for ML pipelines

3. Building CI/CD pipelines for ML deployments using Github Actions, Travis, Terraform and Ansible

4. Responsible to design and develop distributed, high volume, high-velocity multi-threaded event processing systems

5. Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations  

6. Deploying data pipelines in production using Infrastructure-as-a-Code platforms

7. Designing scalable implementations of the models developed by our Data Science teams  

8. Big data and distributed ML with PySpark on AWS EMR, and more!

BASIC REQUIREMENTS 

1.  Bachelor’s degree or greater in Computer Science, IT or related fields
   
   

2.  Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud, DevOps, MLOps & data projects
   
   

3. Strong experience with bash scripting, unix environments and building scalable/distributed systems
   
   

4. Experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent
   
   

5. Very strong experience with AWS and Python
   
   

6. Experience building CI/CD systems
   
   

7. Experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS or equivalent

UI Designer responsibilities include:

Quality Assurance Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics.

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping the product direction and will be actively involved in defining key product features that impact the business. You will work with Principal Engineers to evolve the design and architecture of the products owned by this team. You will be responsible to set up and hold a high software quality bar besides providing technical direction to a highly technical team of Software Engineers. Ultimately, you should monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

· Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.

· Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.

· Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.

· Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools.

· Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.

· Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.

· Monitor debugging process results.

· Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.

· 3+ years of experience as part of a QA Support and Services team.

· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

· Hands-on experience with Web application frontend testing, API Testing, Mobile application.

· Experience working in Framework like Robot, Appium, Selenium, cypress
