Role Overview :

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with 3+ years of experience in building and managing scalable cloud-native infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kubernetes and Helm, along with hands-on experience in deploying and maintaining production-grade systems on cloud platforms.

This role offers an opportunity to work in a high-growth startup environment, contributing to both existing systems and new infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable infrastructure using Kubernetes.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient and automated deployments.
• Manage and optimize cloud environments (preferably GCP).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Helm/Terraform.
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Handle bug fixes, system improvements, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable microservices architecture.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
• Ensure security best practices including IAM, secrets management, and network policies.

Mandatory Skills :

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Expertise in Helm Charts.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands-on experience with ArgoCD or similar CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.
• Experience in database hosting and scaling.

We are seeking talented DevOps-Engineers with focus on Elastic Stack (ELK) to join our dynamic DPS team. In this role, you will be responsible for refining and advising on the further development of an existing monitoring solution based on the Elastic Stack (ELK). You will independently handle tasks related to architecture, setup, technical migration, and documentation.

The current application landscape features multiple Java web services running on JEE application servers, primarily hosted on AWS, and integrated with various systems such as SAP, other services, and external partners. Responsibilities:

Install, set up, and automate rollouts using Ansible/CloudFormation for all stages (Dev, QA, Prod) in the AWS Cloud for components such as Elastic Search, Kibana, Metric beats, APM server, APM agents, and interface configuration.

Create and develop regular "Default Dashboards" for visualizing metrics from various sources like Apache Webserver, application servers and databases.

Improve and fix bugs in installation and automation routines.

Monitor CPU usage, security findings, and AWS alerts.

Develop and extend "Default Alerting" for issues like OOM errors, datasource issues, and LDAP errors.

Monitor storage space and create concepts for expanding the Elastic landscape in AWS Cloud and Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE).

Implement machine learning, uptime monitoring including SLA, JIRA integration, security analysis, anomaly detection, and other useful ELK Stack features.

Integrate data from AWS CloudWatch.

Document all relevant information and train involved personnel in the used technologies.

Requirements:

Experience with Elastic Stack (ELK) components and related technologies.

Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible and CloudFormation.

Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud services.

Experience in creating and managing dashboards and alerts.

I have had many experiences where ‘completed’ software after years of development was filled with bugs and it would be more cost-effective to start from scratch than to attempt to find and correct all the bugs.

I have attempted to learn as much as possible, but I now have an opportunity and it would better serve the venture to have someone handle the management of the project to ensure that;

• We choose the most appropriate technology
• We choose competent developers in those technologies
• The architecture and data modeling are clearly defined in a ‘blueprint’ plan
• A DevOps environment and processes are set up and the developers understand what is required
• Proper tests are carried out to ensure everything works as intended
• There are processes for testers to follow and competent testers are selected to follow them
• Accessibility, localization, and internationalization are planned ahead of time
• Security, scalability, and other future probabilities that I may not even be aware of are considered and planned ahead of time
• Documentation and code reviews, refactoring and other quality assurance processes are undertaken
• Working software is produced and systems that enable new developers or teams of people to easily take over and/or contribute new modules or updates in a controlled and organized fashion
• Cost estimates or budgets/projections or use of SaaS, hosting and other 3rd party services and applications

I am more concerned with a professional and world-class organizational system than with any particular type of software been produced as the strong foundation will enable anything to be creating with efficacy and precision.
